Hi Guys,
Always had a soft spot for your team as a student at Aston Uni.
Went to a fair few Brummie games as I stayed a short distance from the ground but on the couple occasions that I went to see my beloved Chelsea play you, we never won or even scored a goal
Anyways, just wanted to see if any of you guys were at the final game in 2008 vs Blackburn when you were relegated??
I certainly was. It was epic!!!!!!!!!
I just remember looking up behind me and seeing some guy shouting at Sullivan, who offered his hand and the guy tried to drag him down before the Police jumped him.
The final whistle was mental and it was the first time I've ever invaded a pitch.
What was hilarious is when we (yes we!) trashed the crossbar. I remember screaming "to the other end" and we all charged across the pitch before the police came out of nowhere and swung their batons aimlessly. Scary but blooming hilarious
Just reminiscing on a day I will never forget.
Good Memories

I was there as I have been at home since 1987. I did not go on the pitch against Blackburn as it was silly kids and I sit near the back and by the time I would have got down there it would have been over.
The fans were frustrated with Sullivan and gold that day and it spilled over on to the pitch. It lead to them leaving the club and landing us with the Chinese Mafia so thanks for your small part in that GD.
I remember the pitch invasion against Charlton, we ran over the their fans and the old bill thought it was going to kick off but we stood and shook their hands. Think they had been promoted that day as well.
Think it was a year earlier when we got relegated against Reading they played in a yellow kit that day and I got booted in the head that day by people running on to the pitch but it was all part of life's lessons. I loved those days but I am a bit too old for pitch invasions these days. Would rather be back in the pub with a pint in my hand which I was that fateful day against Blackburn!

Chinese Mafia
Yeah I could see the fans were angry at Gold and Sullivan, as soon as I saw the guy a dozen rows above me try to drag Sullivan down.
Oh well, personally was a good experience for me just to run on the pitch.

@bcfc83
Yes, I remember the Charlton game.
There was that moment when you thought 'oh oh, it's gonna kick off' but when they started shaking hands...
Good memories.
I always maintain that Curbo told them to lay off us in the second half as I seem to remember them hitting the post/crossbar in the first and putting us under all sorts of pressure.

The Chalton game I was thinking of was when it was still standing at St Andrews, was Curbs in charge then? Could of been I guess as he was in charge for 18 years I think?

Gullit's dreadlocks
Unfortunately this place has become a breding ground for Victor Meldrews,of course you couldn't stop the crossbar being broken and at least you have some good memories of being at St Andrews!

Finally a Blue who understands!!!
I will keep those memories for the rest of my life. Plus ever since, I have always looked out for Birmingham's results and never showed any animosity when you made me travel all the way up from London on boxing day to see a 0-0 draw and ruin my night when Bowyer scored the only goal a year later.
But seriously your team always has a place in my heart for winning the Carling Cup against Arsenal. Without you they wouldn't be reaching 8 years with no trophies .
Good luck for the new season, you better get promoted

Yeah Sharkey, I was at the Charlton game, It was my first match as a boy and it was epic. Came all the way from Stafford on me todd, didn't even know where St Andrews was. Just had to be there, the stakes were big. Win and we stay up, and we bloody well did it. I was convinced I was a good luck charm and spent most of my pocket money going to most of the games the following season. We got relegated. KRO.
