Bye Pienaar

Sky Sports sources understand Everton have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for midfielder Steven Pienaar.

The Goodison Park club have been keen to re-sign the South African having sold him to Spurs in a £3million deal in January 2011.

Pienaar moved back to Everton on loan in January 2012 after struggling to make an impact at White Hart Lane in his 12 months in London.

When back with the Toffees, he played 14 games and scored four goals in a replication of the form which made him a star on Merseyside in his initial spell from July 2007.

It was previously understood talks over a permanent deal for Pienaar's return to Everton had broken down.

But sources have now revealed a fee has been agreed and the 30-year-old could become David Moyes' second summer signing following the arrival of Steven Naismith.

Adebayor to QPR

It's the right move for all concerned with Pienaar, I hope it comes off. I bet he'll do something against us next season though

Ade will have to be on loan to Tamworth at this rate...

Adebayor to QPR

Means they will have a better attack than Spurs

Good for Pienaar and Spurs. Just one of those moves that never really made sense for club or player and perhaps unsurprisingly didn't work out. Good luck to him.

Eh? It made total sense for us - bargain deal for a great player - it was a no-brainer, until he turned up and Harry couldn't settle him.

He was never going to be first choice though was he and clearly he's the type of character that isn't happy sitting on the bench week in week out. That's why the move never made sense bargain fee or not.

No players should be happy to sit on the bench.

That wasn't his problem at Spurs at all if you followed the situation at the time.

I wouldn't say adebayor to QPR is so ridiculous, it seems he's only interested in the money despite saying how much he loved it at spurs at the end of the season.
qpr have the big dollars and if they meet his demands, he'd do it.
I'm not saying it's happening, but stranger things have happened...

I thought everyone new about Adebayor,he gives mercenaries a bad name,

Groovy - bit harsh in my book - he gives a very substantial sum of his weekly wage to his African charities, is that so wrong really? It seems that's the point he's determined to maintain. Sure, he could get £100, 000 at one or two other clubs but if charity's his main thing, and he can continue at City being loaned out and they pay for the whole caboodle then fair play to him I reckon - IF the charity thing IS his main concern.
