Doncaster Rovers v York City

http://fuzzyrovers.blogspot.ch/2012/08/the-new-season-is-nigh.html

There you go. Quite a long article as I deliberately haven't said much over the closed season. York fans, welcome back and bear with the article, there's something about you lower down - honest!

Ny - it was a big waste of money them putting those sea defence walls in then.

I'm with you xon Lanza knows nothing about punctuation. I've met him and he'd think punctuation was something you solved with a puncture repair kit.He struck me as being not very well educated at all ha ha !

I think I should put the comment in context, Scribe. From Jan 2011 to the end of that season, Rovers had ON AVERAGE 11 players on the treatment table. At its worst I think it was 16, at best 6. Were any of them key? Well with 11 out, there'd have to be some. I reckon again we're talking 5 or 6 who would under normal circumstances be on the team sheet (likes of Billy Sharp, James Hayter, Brian Stock etc) in fact I think the only first team regular who was ever-present over that period was John Oster.

So when I read about 4 injuries I kinda think "just the 4 then?" Apologies anyway if you thought I was having a go at York. Most at Donny would love to see you do well this season and yes, you held a team from a league above you to a draw. That's not bad what ever way you look at it and however many excuses we make.

The League Cup continues to throw up more results where the smaller club beats the bigger one:
Derby lose to Scunny
Bristol City lose to Gillingham
Millwall lose to Crawley
Cardiff lose to Northampton
Brighton lose to Swindon
Portsmouth lose to Plymouth.

Is suppose the Portsmouth result isnt really a shock as they are having to play untried juniors just to be able to field a team.
They look to be in deep trouble again, overspending and bad management and a minus ten point start again.
Its a good job the Rovers are run better than that.

Hound, I agree re Portsmouth. I too was taken aback when I read that they had a pre-season training camp in Spain - I can't understand how they were even allowed to do that unless it was actually a cheaper option than putting triallists up in local hotels! Either way, it sends out the wrong message to everyone that the club owes money to!
