Obviously the hot topic is Diouf signing, but it shouldn't go unnoticed that in a pretty routine win against a League 1 team, 18 year old Byram had a good game at right back.
He was strong in the air, had no trouble defensively and looked comfortable on the ball. He got forward very well too, with one cross that very nearly lead to a goal, after he was played in by McCormack.
Hopefully we continue to give chances to our academy players.
Encouraging debut for Sam Byram

We didn't look blatantly good because we weren't flashy which in the past we were which made us look good. We were a different kind of good today.

This sounds promising so fingers crossed the lad develops well over the coming season & is ultimately secured to a long term contract if he is the real deal.
Like a lot of other posters I really hope that Poleon forces the issue this season at some stage.

Excuse the nitpicking, but it's nice to get the lads name right.
I agree BYram looks a good prospect
they were calling him Bryam on the BBC website as well HW
