well now that Rodwell has gone Moyes will (hopefully) have some money to spend so who would you like to see him sign
i personally hope that we use the money to get Donovan a midfield of
---------gibson-----fellaini-----
donovan---naismith-----pienaar
looks pretty menacing to me
anyway who do you think we will/should sign ?
Rodwell out Donovan in?

I don't have to admit anything. What Mancini says is true - by playing to win, he clearly means to win things, not just individual matches. The harsh fact of the matter is, Everton, at least while Rodwell's been there, hasn't won anything, nor had a realistic chance of winning anything. The move, for Rodwell, to City is clearly a step up for him, to a club that does have realistic ambitions of winning things.
Call that arrogant if you like. But it's nevertheless true.

I didn't tell you that you did. I should have had a question mark in there.
The way it reads looks as if Mancini thinks that Everton are negative by default. Doesn't say anything about winning trophies, just says that he's moving to a team that 'tries to win'.
All I said was that THE QUOTE was disparaging and arrogant if taken at face value, which obviously people would. Mancini should probably know better, it's fairly amateur press awareness for someone who really should be one of the experts (given his position).

We've been to a final and a semi. If you get that far, you've got a chance of winning something.

at what cost? It will dwarf any investment Everton have had in the past or future.
And still no sign of being self sufficient just as with Chelsea.
At least you city neighbours are not not reliant on Esso upping the price of desiel ti fund another transfer spree to give this artificial position. I applaud the community work, but not the rest.

Chelsea Way, I simply said that I don't have to admit that Mancini's quote is arrogant, despite you saying that I have to.
Fellani, investment in the past is comparable to investment today. For example, Arsenal benefited from around £100k in investment, at a time when that amount was worth over 10 times what the club earned in total revenue per year. Everton, at the time when they were known as the Mersey Millionaires, had an amount invested into them that was ten fold their (then) total revenue per year.
Same can be said of City today.
By all means, don't feel inclined to applaud that. By the same token, disregard your own clubs history, and how significant investment in the past resulted in your club attaining a historical status that it continues to remain proud of today.

Well done in achieving that. You didn't however win anything when you did. So my comment remains - even when you've managed to get close, you've still not won anything.

Well I guess I was saying that it was undeniable, and gave my reasons. Not that you should bend to my will over the matter.

....back to subject.
£10m is a bit too much for Donovan considering his age although I would like to see that line-up above ^^
