The BBC are reporting Jack Rodwell is £12million up front with another £5 million appearance based. Would that not have represented reasonable value and would you have thought it would have been worth a punt for United to go for?
I imagine he will be there to be Yaya's stand in when hes off to the ACON.

Indeed, BB.
Let's not forget a few seasons ago, Rodwell was even quoted at 30M pounds. I dont think he is a bad player but i dont particularly rate him.
The injury worries especially are very worrying.

The money is irrelevant for City.

Are City excluded from FFP then?
Why are they waiting to get players off the books before buying big again if money is irrelevant to them? Why is Mancini moaning that they are missing the boat on players because of this policy if money is irrelevant to them?

You have to wonder why they've seemingly pulled out of the RVP deal, like hell would they let him go to us if they could have their own way.

RVP is not going anywhere until January at the earliest in my opinion. Risky strategy by Arsenal but they know they need him until their other signings prove their salt.
They certainly won't let him go to United or City unless it's ridiculous money.

OK Pedantic Pea,
Money matters to everyone.
But they don't give a monkey's if it's 12 or 17. They have a higher threshold of 'not bothered' when it comes to acquiring targets.

I don't understand why they've bought Rodwell.

Its fully down to yaya disappearing to ACON IMO. They want that box-to-box midfielder

Rodwell is a decent player but I'm not entirely convinced he'd be good enough for us. However, he does offer the benefit of being able to play CM or CB (I'm sure he'd be miles better than Carrick at the latter for starters).
"He would be a good back up for Carrick and would have shut up some people hankering for Midfielders. "

I see RAT still has a bee in his bonnet about fans wanting to sign a CM. Rest assured these fans will never "shut up" just because you don't agree with them just as they will probably never expect you to "shut up" when they don't agree with you.

But Yaya has already stated that he is not going to ACON this year.
Is it too much to understand?

Pea, I thought you were suggesting Everton fans will feel hard done by, misunderstanding.
