De Rossi

Reports that City have agreed a fee with Roma over DDR and his agent is flying to City to discuss personal terms.

If we pull this off imagine having DDR, Yaya and Silva in midfield, mouth watering!

DDR's agent is called Sergio Berti.

How can you not trust a man with that name.

It is not in midfield where we need cover it is in the centre of defence where the trouble lies. Stefan Savic is not yet ready to play week in week out in the prem, so with Micha out for at least 8 weeks we need to bring someone in preferbaly 2 good quality cb asap.

I think Rodwell was signed with the intention of developing him into a central defensive role. I also think de Jong will end up going. De Rossi would be a great signing, but I agree that we probably do need to sign another cb. Especially so considering that Kolo's days look to be numbered (not to mention that I think he is way past his best anyway).

Hand on heart though, I just wish we are able to permanently shift on the likes of Bridge, RSC, Adebayor, Kolo. Get them off the books once and for all, free up their wages, thus justifying signing one, maybe two top quality players.

Clearly Bridge will end up running down his contract (18 months to go I believe), spending it out on loan with us picking up the majority of his wages. That leaves Adebayor - it wouldn't surprise me if he does end up at Spurs before the window closes, and rumours are that Betis are coming back in for RSC. So fingers crossed that we can get at least one or two of these high earning players off the books.

De Rossi played centre back for Italy in the Euros didn't he? Btw, where is Boyota these days?

I think Adebayor is only a matter of time, I can't see Spurs not signing a striker before the end of the window. Completely agree though, the sooner they are off the books, the better.

Have to say though, I'm hoping that the situation Kolo at the moment doesn't affect his brother as well!

Boyata's back at City, after his loan at Bolton last season.

Good point about De Rossi playing cb.

That does worry me. I don't think Yaya would have a problem with Kolo leaving, but he may have a problem if Kolo is treated unfairly.

There are a handful of players at the club who are so important to us that we have to ensure they remain happy/content. Yaya, Silva, Aguero, Hart, Kompany being those players.
