One of the places any team dreads to go to. Everton is one of the toughest fixtures in this league, and probably always will be, well we got Goodison out the way already.
Everton are always fired up against the big boys at Goodison and can beat anyone on their day.
Yes we were pretty toothless up front, didn't create much, kept going backwards too often, and our defence was battered against Fellaini, but what do you expect when we're playing a CM in the CB position.
We can only get better from that performance, players will return from injury, players will pick up form (Rooney and Nani, you two were shocking today!), and we won't be playing our new nemesis Fellaini again for a while!
Two best players for me were Kagawa and De Gea by a long way. De Gea made plenty of decent saves for a first match of the season. And Kagawa is already showing glimpses of why we signed him. He kept the ball better than anyone else did for us today, I can't remember him giving away the ball. He had good vision, threading a few balls through the Everton defence for players to run onto, and had good movement, covering a lot of the wide areas and middle of the park well. It wasn't a standout performance, but I didn't see anyone else doing what he did for us. He was the best player for me in a United shirt tonight.
Over all I'm not too disappointed with the defeat, as it's the first game of the season away to one of the toughest teams. We'll make amends in the coming weeks as our players return to fitness and form. Rooney for me was our worst player, he just couldn't keep the ball in the first half, and Nani was very wasteful with any opportunities he had to advance up field or get a decent cross in. They will improve though I'm sure.
A bad night at the office, but we'll polish our selves off and go again next week.
MUFC for the PL title is my prediction this year, and a push for another trophy too.

I wipe away the chance of getting 6 points at the sight of them every season
