Colin's match ratings v Huddersfield Town

Match day 2 and take away the last 2 minutes and it was almost a perfect away performance. Huddersfield stewards a marked improvement on ours! As ever, feel free to agree or criticise my decisions.

Camp - As on saturday, was assured and reliable when called upon. Couldn't have done more and we cannot criticise him for not saving the penalty. He is just what we want inbetween the sticks. Already looking a lot better than last season where he was shaky at times. (7)

Moloney - A lot more quiet than saturday but steady enough denfensively. Caused no real problems by the Huddersfield left winger. Not at fault for the penalty decision. (7)
Halford - Well, again he looked shaky to me. I'm not being harsh on the lad and maybe it is just more experience that he needs with this completely new back 4. He didn't make any major mistakes and the majority of the time dealt with anything that came his way. Would like to see Ayala or Hutchinson start in his place ideally and have Halford as back up. (7)
Collins - Mountain. Reminds me of a cross between BigWes and Wilson as he has the brute force of Wes but also the composure of Wilson. Great game and had Rhodes in his pocket. (8)
Harding - From what I saw, Harding had a fantastic game. Got foward very well and defended very well for 92 minutes. Linked up well with Reidy. I would have awarded him an 8 if it wasn't for his stupid dive in however, i'm sure he regrets it more than anyone. He did effectivley cost us 2 points though and so deserves a (7).

Gillett - Immense. The one criticism I had of him on saturday was that he did not make enough tackles but tonight he proved me wrong. He was everywhere, starting attacks, nullifying Huddersfield attacks, keeping the ball moving. Great game and can only get better. (8)

Guedioura - Amazing performance from Pep. Ripped Huddersfield to shreds at times and slotted well into the back 4/5/6 during the last 10. Was creating all night and very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. (9)
Mcgugan - My MOTM. Looked dangerous and everytime he went foward looked like creating an opportunity or scoring himself. He just did not get the rub of the green tonight and if he carries on playing like this then you can expect the goals to come. Good assist when setting up Cox also. (9)
Reid - A bit quieter than saturday but nevertheless put a decent shift in. Establishing a good understanding with Harding down the left hand side. I felt he could have done better when closing down the lad who won the penalty though. (7)

Blackstock - Missed a few chances again but unlike saturday, we can categorically say that he was definitley unlucky. If you look at the shots he took, then I don't think we could have asked much more from him in that respect. Goals will come for Blackstock and he needn't worry because he is doing almost everything right. (7)
Cox - Good performance by Cox. Looks a premier league player and uses the ball effectively. Took his goal very clinically and I can possibly see him developing into a 20 goal striker. (8)

Tudgay - Never really in the game. The time he got the ball, he gave it away. Had 1 shot and really should have done a bit better in my opinion. Would be harsh to criticise him too much as he was only in the game for 18ish minutes but was a bit too anonymous for me. (6)

Moussi was only on for 10 and Hutchinson hardly at all so do not warrant a rating.

Collated team ratings after 2 games.

Mcgugan - 8.5
Guedioura - 8
Collins - 8
Cox - 7.5
Gillett - 7.5
Moloney - 7.5
Camp - 7
Reid - 7
Harding -7
Halford - 7
Blackstock - 6.5
Tudgay - 6
Majewski - 6

Not really any point tagging Town in your thread unless you're rating us as well.

Oh and I would have given Reid an 8

he wasn't at fault for the penalty because he was on the other side of the pitch, it was harding that gave the penalty away.

looking at the rest of the ratings it does appear as though everyone got at least 1 extra mark for being nowhere near the incident, i don't see why moloney should be singled out for praise for that though

^ electric, yeah that was a bit of a mistake, just stating the obvious really. Nobody got an extra mark for not being involved in the penalty incident though!

Cut me some slack, i'm new to all of this

I thought all the forest team did well..came to play, came to try and win the game.. played with pace and got men forward at every opportunity..
let themselves down with the ridiculous amount of time and general ars-ing about when being substituted, which gave us the injury time to get the penalty as neither trainer had been on in the second half..

jack hunt will , given the opportunities , own a lot of full backs this season.. the majority of the scouts at our games will end up watching him rather than jordan, i think...

I thought Reid deserved much more than a 7, thought he and Blackstock were your best 2 players. Reid was always in acres of space and seemed to make a telling pass almost every time he had the ball, Blackstock bossed out defenders and held the ball up well to bring others into play. Hard to pick faults with any of the Forest performances though - very impressive.

Oh, and as SuperNovak has said, why are we tagged in this post when you haven't mentioned us at all? You could have at least given a few opinions on our players if you're going to put it on our boards too.
