We obviously have money to spend, so we're doing the important thing first which is building a strong squad. As I said in my first post, this is the first time in ages we've had players who can come off the bench and have an impact. Kenny took Liverpool to the third highest points total when he was in charge, he obviously feel's the first XI he has no can get top four. This can be achieved 'easier' with a good in-depth squad.
IF we make top four this following season, I believe we'll bring in a few of these marque signings you're talking about.

Why does everyone think that Lucas is all of a sudden one of our best players which must start? Last season our midfield was so weak so we had no choice but to go with him, and yes he did quite well compared to how he was before.
But now we have strength in depth in the midfield area and there are much better playes at our disposal so I think he should be used as a squad player, no disrespect.

Lucas is the only player who can play in the Defensive Midfield mould and has improved vastly, in which at obe state i thought he was crap, hes won me over and our other option is poulsen, whos most likely going to be sold.

i actually like that team alot, although it seems to attacking and doesnt really have that much defensive discipline, as there is no natural DMF in your team.

Lucas is our best tackler, and the most consistent tackler last season in the whole Premier League. Sure, he gives away a few cheap free-kicks here and there but he'll start cutting down on that as he matures.
We can't afford to play Meireles, Aqua and Gerrard all at once, unless Gerrard plays in a defensive role...

Meireles is capable of playing DM, as he does for Portugal. I'd like to this us give it a try out though, it could just turn into a top quality trio in the centre!
It's also goo to know you'd have Lucas, Adam and Henderson to come in as well.

Whilst I understand all this talk about who our best starting 11 will be next season, surely the point is that we now have a squad with options. So, depending on the opponent, home or away, Kenny can set the team up in the way which he feels will get the best result. This can only be a good thing right?

Meireles is much, much too weak in the tackle to play there in the Premier League. He doesn't fight enough and is very soft, in fact I witnessed many times last season when he actually jumped out of tackles or was afraid to go in for them. Both Hodgson and Kenny recognised this, with one putting him out on the right and one putting him further forward.
