Fryers

Just saw on the ManUtd Stuff twitter than he's going to Belgium for talks with Standard Liege. Is he really that unhappy at the club that he wants to move to another country?

He plays for Spurs.

I think they still haven't agreed a compensation fee but hes played for the reserve team.

Nope, he never signed for them. Fergie made a comment about expecting him back for pre season training and he just didn't turn up.

I thought he did. Didn't want to look thick, but couldn't be ar$ed googling it. Too drunk for that.

Spurs signed him?

He's played a friendly or two with our youth team but the fee hasn't been agreed, looks like it's going to tribunal.

Would you guys rate him as a better CB or LB?

Weird.

I thought he had already gone to Spurs and they were just arguing over the compensation fee or whether to take it to a tribunal.

Could going via Belgium be a dodgy way of avoiding the big compensation fee, because if you go to a country outside England you pay a minimal fee, but go to another English club and it's much bigger? Spurs then pay Liege a nice profit for the turn-around and dont risk giving United the reported 6m SAF wants in compensation.

Having said all that surely the compensation rules aren't that easy to avoid.

Either way, good riddance, he blew it, as I'm sure Buttner would confirm.

He never turned up for training and I know that he played at least one game for Spurs in a friendly.

Sounds about right to me. Weren't there rumours that we were after 6m for him? Which sounds like a hell of a lot to me by the way. Not that he didn't look promising, but has anyone ever received close to 6m compo for a youngster? We only paid Roma about 200k for Petrucci didn't we?

6m is a big amount for a tribunal to decide on, cannot see us getting that much. He had a little first team action and looked decent, at a guess I would say 3m...
