"With striker Jordan Rhodes set to join Blackburn Rovers later today, BBC Radio Leeds is reporting that Huddersfield Town are considering a move for Leicester City forward Paul Gallagher."
Let's hope that this is true. I think it would be best for all concerned if we thank Gally for his three seasons here and politely show him the nearest exit.
He's not going to be required this season and if we can get £200k for him I reckon that will be a pretty good price for us.
It would be a good move for him, too, to go to a club where he stands a much better chance of getting some time on the pitch.
If he does move on do people think we need a replacement? For me, Gally had been pretty much relegated to the role of a reserve player for this season anyway so I can't see NP rushing into the transfer market at the last minute.
Huddersfield to bid for Gallagher

I've always been a big fan of Gally. Without doubt one of the most technically gifted players a the club. Yes - he's cr.ap in the air and his tackling is pathetic, but his first touch, crossing and dead balls are usually excellent. One of the team's piano players, not one of the piano movers.
I really hope this move works out for him as he deserves better than the treatment the City fans have given him over the last few months. A fresh start would be best for all concerned, especially after the personal problems he has suffered recently.
As Dunge says above, you just know he'll score one of his trademark 30 yeard screamers against us later in the year.

The bottom line is, as I've said before, that you can't afford to field a player that basically contributes for 2 minutes per game - admittedly with amazing goals, decent corners and a good penalty success ratio.
The problem is that he can't / won't head the ball, can't tackle and doesn't track back well enough - basic requirements.
That said, he seems a good bloke and he'd leave with my best wishes. The move would be best for all concerned, but as Dung said - watch out when he plays against us!

Agree with pretty much everything Nuneaton says above.
Gally seems to individually epitomise our inconsistency as a team over the last couple of seasons – great things one game and awol the next (two).
He's had some inspired moments, but as a lecturer of mine once told me: 'inspiration isn't a sound working method' – and the Championship doesn't seem the appropriate place for the occasionally involved.
If he goes, good luck to him, maybe a change of scenery will be what he needs to thrive.

Why do people insist on saying Gallagher is technically good. What does that mean? either he is a good player for us or he is not.
I am in my 50s but still technically gifted does that make me good?

His technical ability has resulted in some wonderful goals that have changed matches. This kind of ability is what Dyer and Waghorn are missing. However, you can't just play someone because they have good technical ability and unfortunately for Gallagher he offers little else. He is too slow and lightweight to play in the current Leicester team IMO.

Sad to say progressed as far as he could at Blackburn and despite his show pony skills no further at city.
To much of a luxury player in our team sorry.

You need a player who can create something and has a decent final ball. Gallagher has the occasional flash of brilliance or is hugely influential in a game. Consistently scoring penalties is another, often underrated, skill.
The problem is that his good games are 1 in 7 or 8 and the rest of the time he is carried. If we were brilliant everywhere else you might be able to play him as a luxury, but Marshall does most of what Gallagher can do and influences a game far more consistently.
I've always tried to work out where Gallagher best fits into the side. He's not quick enough for a winger and does not cover his full back. He's not robust enough for a centre midfielder and he's not clinical enough for a striker.
If you want to play him in a sort of floating role between midfield and attack you might just get something out of him. Sadly, however, he's not that good that you would build your entire team around him.
He'd go with my blessing and thanks.

Nevs hit the nail on the head.
A poor mans Matthew LeTissier.
If he moves on.....and plays against us...........Just man-mark him or tackle hard and fair and there will be no 30-yard screamers going into our net from his boots.
Hope all goes well domestically for him. Best Wishes Gally.

Clearly has ability but will be a bit part player going forward.
Best of luck to him. Get away from the idiots who feel it's right to boo their own players. He deserves better than that.

I'm with prawn.
Scored some fantastic goals.
If he goes - I suspect he should - then good luck to him (except against us - not that that will make any difference, you just know a 35 yard rocket will be whistling past Kasper into the net when he plays against us).
