Envy? of course not

Manager of Championship club (pretty much pick any) walks into owners office.

Owner…"right coach we have some good news, £15,000,000 has been set aside for you to buy players that you consider good enough to get us into the Premier League, after all that’s what we all want isn’t it?"

Manager… “yes Sir it certainly is and £15,000,000 will get us some great players. But Sir there is a problem".

Owner…"problem, what could that be coach?"

Manager… “well Sir you see it’s like this. I don’t think that the fans will be too keen on this".

Owner looks aghast “what do you mean I thought they wanted promotion?"

Manager sighs… “well Sir I thought that too, but as you know Leicester City have been spending to get promotion and well, I have been reading all of our fans forums and it seems that our supporters think it is the wrong thing to do, spend money on players that might get us into the Premier League and that it will all end in tears for Leicester. Personally Sir I think they are all envious, but of course they will never admit it.
So I have come to the conclusion that they are quite happy to stay in this league and to show no ambition to better the club. This of course Sir then leaves them free to moan and complain day in and day out about me and you Sir."

Owner…"I see coach. What do you think I should do with the money?"

Manager…"well Sir if I may suggest. Perhaps it would be a good idea to send it to Sven at Leicester, perhaps he could make good use of it."

Owner nods his head…"do you have his address?"
