Eddie Jordan speculating that Hamilton is set to move to Mercedes has hit the BBC F1 news headlines at 7pm today! With 8 races left this season, time is running out on a deal to be closed and with every day passing, the options grow thin for Hamilton, McLaren and Mercedes.
Given Hamilton's late form, despite the crash in Spa and the Twitter incident, and Maldonado taking him out in Valencia, Hamilton is a true championship contender that will be a hot buy for any team targeting him this season! Personally I believe that Hamilton would be well suited at Lotus alongside Raikkonen, but Mercedes have gradually improved over recent years and a driver who can eek out every 10th out of that car is what they need.
In other areas of interest, Should Schumacher retire again, who thinks what of his future? Again, on a personal note, I think he would make a good driver mentor/manager, as someone who is ruthless in the quest to achieve goals, someone who is rigorous in his approach to his targets, he would make a good adviser to drivers seeking the ultimate goal! Anybody agree?

I can remember there was poster here by the name of tsheporam he predicted all this calamity at Mclaren. This man clearly knew what he was talking about. People must learn to think for themselves and not wait for the British Press to tell them what they saw with their own eyes during races!

If Lewis leaves McLaren for Mercedes it will be a backward step IMO.
He wants to drive quickly and win races. He didn't have a competitive car last season which is why he lost the plot. Sunday was just a complete nightmare for him, people were saying that he should have backed off. Yeah a racing driver on the grid is going to do that, he may as well sit and wait for everyone to pass in that case.
I think the seat he wanted was Webber's. I was surprised Mark signed again given how he feels about playing second fiddle to Vettel.
He can't go to Ferrari as Alonso wouldn't allow it so the only other real option would be Lotus, definitely not Mercedes.
I would like him to stay at McLaren, if he does Whitmarsh needs to sort himself out. Button isn't a team leader but Hamilton is.

Fennel, we are on the same page. Mercedes will be a backward step. Lotus would have been perfect.
Gazza, the problem with JB leading the team is his inability to drive around problems. Look at Alonso at ferrari this season.
I struggle to believe JB has that much input into the car. He's had to copy LH's set up recent.y to get the best out of the upgrades, so I wouldn't read much into that

Vik you're right, he would have but I don't think that would have stopped him trying to write a clause in stating he would go on equal terms to Vettel. I was merely stating that he wants to be in a winning car and Red Bull have been immense for the last 2 seasons.
Gazza, I really don't think that Button had that much influence on the Brawn team. Let's be honest he hadn't won a race in the first 6 years of his career, almost lost his drive in 2009 when Honda pulled out of the sport. It was only because Ross Brawn bought the team and Button and Barrichello had no drives, and had to take a reported 50% pay cut he got the drive at the last minute.
Sure he won 6 out of the first 7 races, but that was down to the cars diffuser which made the car almost a second a lap faster than the rest of the field. When the other teams cottoned on and introduced similar technology he was average for the rest of the season. He didn't seem to have much input into the team then as they stayed still rather than improve the technology they were using.
IMO Button has won races because he looked after his tyres better than others, something which this year he has struggled to do on the Pirelli's.
I want to see people race not drive round carefully so as to take one less pit stop than others in order to win races.
