How have our players done for their respective countries??
Hope they don't get injured.
OUR PLAYERS ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY

I am not bashing Welbeck, but it annoys me that he is getting more 'potential' hype than Rooney ever had for example, and when ( and if) he comes through with some good production, I will certainly be in agreement with the Dannyboy -lovers... 'til then I bide with my opinions.
We all know Wayne goes on and off, I can't deny that, but as of the last season, he was still Uniteds man....I stand by that!

I think you're forgetting the hype that Rooney got. Welbeck is certainly not getting the same hype. Rooney was getting international hype and seen as the saviour of the English national team at the tender age of just 17-18. I don't think Welbeck gets hype from anyone other than united fans really.

But he did produce didn't he...or am I so mistaken?

He produced for United but sadly not for England because a team needs at least 7 or 8 top class players to win a trophy and Rooney 'the saviour' had to play alongside players like Vassell, Heskey, Barry, Upson, Green, Wright Phillips and Milner in his England career.

Welbeck is good but to compare him to Rooney is madness. Players like Rooney come once in a generation. He has been scoring for fun since he was 18 and has troubled every defence in the world. Welbeck unfortunately will never reach the heights Wazza has.

Red Indian....I can only concur, that`s why I call him teachers pet...no one dare say a word against him...If and when he becomes real good I will applaud him, of course, but he has to show me...and people who say goal scoring doesn't mean a thing are fatuous...a striker is there to score goals and win games, not show that he has potential!! Of course, good and pretty football is nice to watch...but it is a game of challenge and winning is the only thing to be concerned about!

Absolute madness that there are still certain fans on this forum who say things like "I don't really think we needed RvP" or "I'm still indifferent to RvP".

Agree. There are many members of the "don't buy big brigade" on this site and we know who they are. The funny thing is that they actually thought we shouldn't buy RVP because we don't need him and it would stunt the development of Welbeck and Hernandez.
