Andreas Hinkel (sorry Ghod) retires

At the age of 30 the former full back has decided to hang up his boots.

Thats a hell of a young age to call it quits...

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/429/8069537/hinkel-hangs-up-his-boots?

"I know many may think that 30 is no age to quit. But in my case I have a different opinion. I played football at a very high level for 12 years - 12 wonderful intensive years with amazing experiences, first class clubs and overwhelming supporters.

"Of course, I had opportunities to carry on. There were a lot of offers in recent months, especially from abroad. But together with my family I decided that this would not have been the right thing for us anymore. I have two kids - and no desire to sign a contract somewhere just to prolong my career for a little while. That's not my way."

Best of luck, but wonder if there is an injury or something has happened that has triggered this...

Id like to see his assist rate, the year of mowbray he was our one good player
----------
In 2009/10 he was joint third highest assists with 6.

Year before Naka was head and shoulders above everyone with 10. Great player...

Sorry Eck, even as a Rangers fan, Hinkel was infact pretty underrated.

We still miss Naka, he provided around 20 goals a season, either by scoring or creating them

In a quick look one of the surprising things is that Agathe does not actually appear high as assists go but Larsson is:
- 2000/02 = 11
- 2002/03 = 16
- 2003/04 = 16

You wonder how many were Agathe to Larsson and then onto Hartson or Sutton...
