Afternoon fellas
I was just wondering what your thoughts were of Vertonghen at LB? I love Benny but he hasn't been great these opening 3 games (who has?) and I was wondering if having Vertonghen there might give our back line some more assurance.
Now, Benny can be great but I still can't get over that cross he put across our own box against Newcastle. I know it strangely turned it to an attack but my heart stopped.
This would also allow Caulker to step up and play CB where Vertonghen has been slightly shaky in the opening few games. But I guess where you see Vertonghen's future with us. If he's to Play at CB then he's going to need to stay there.
Anyway fellas, opinions?

Nah man Benny will come good, Vert in the centre with Caulker/Kaboul is the future for me

jaysis man I've no idea really, from what I've seen of him hes looked ok tho I know a lot of people on here have said he looks shaky but hopefully he'll soon settle
I honestly think atm we are just a win away from kicking on, we just need things to click for us in one game and then we'll push on a bit. Not expecting great things this season tho with the squad we have if I'm honest mate top 6 I reckon what would you think yourself?

I watched the Belgium v Croatia game last night and Verty played LB. Croatia scored 6 mins into the game via a cross that came from the right-wing, where Vert played. It was Modric who picked out a great pass to find Mandzukic on the wing, not so much bad positioning from Vert.
He looked assured on the ball otherwise and was able to bring it forward because of this.
The way BAE is playing right now I would not be totally against seeing what Vert can offer in his place.

Vert will only play CB when Kaboul comes back. Even then it'll only be because Ekotto was injured.
