Being a member gives you a chance to air your thoughts and you get mailed updates.
It's really up to you how much you want to try and effect change, if you sign up but then just sit back you probably won't get the most out of being a member.

I assume a large majority of the 8000 are in the same situation as me, i.e. signed up, not paid up and don't go to meetings or contribute, and hence no influence. Therefore you could argue that STHs or LUFC Membership holders are both lathers groups of people. Granted they have no group organisation except through the club themselves but how is that different from my membership of LUST?

Maid, you can pay to have full voting rights as a shareholder.
As a member I believe you have no voting options.
