Our Next Manager....

Evening all! So this past week we have seen Wenger talk about his contract scenario (that he is in no mood to sign it as still has 2 years left etc).

I would be devastated obviously if Wenger didn't sign an extension (which I think he will). The reason I mention this as myself and a colleague were talking about Man United and Arsenal and how it would be odd for both teams with new management....which poses the question..

If Wenger didn't sign, which manager (try and be as realistic as you can) or which type of manager do you think would follow in his footsteps? Who would you want?

Would be really interesting to hear some of your opinions. Just FYI...I went for Slavan Billic or someone of his calibre, just as I really think he has got the best out of his Croatian team, he is a young manager, they play some excellent football, would think he would love to be at Arsenal and be at club football level.

Didn't wenger name a manager he thought should succeed him? Think he said it last season or season before. Cant remember his name.
Might be able to find an article on it

I genuinely cannot imagine an Arsenal without Wenger. I'm too young to know an Arsenal without him.

In two years time...would Bould be ready? Long term I cab see him becoming Arsenal manager.

TYOTO - I know exactly what you are talking about - read it in the Sun...never had heard of the man though.

Giroulski - so am I, could never imagine it.

Haha when I was younger I used to say to my Dad - have Arsenal got Arsene as there boss because they have the same name! It's amazing how times change yet the great philosopher is still there!

I always thought it was strange Arsenal having 'Arsene' when i was a kid aswell! I would like to see Klopp or Guardiola (why not) also think Blanc is a possibility as Wenger has final say...

I have seen us with a few managers

Terry Neill
Don Howe
George Graham
Bruce Rioch

there where 1 or 2 in between that where temporary

i.e Pat Rice, Stewart Houston and Steve Burtenshaw

but those where the main ones I remember.

Love Terry Neill.....even now I still remember back to singing We are part of Terry's army, we are all going to Wembley

George Graham gave me my football highlights winning the league in 1989 and the cup double in 1993.

Rioch only thing he did was get us Dennis Bergkamp

I have seen many but Wenger is Arsenal to me....I have to admit that it would be nice to have a fresh face in but I do not think it will work....

In truth 2 years ago I would have loved AVB or Rodgers but I have seen what they have done to big clubs....possibly Arsenals way of play would have suited them more then Liverpool, Chelsea or Spurs but it seems my idea had a lucky escape....

Personally I would love Henry to get his badge and take over or Dennis (or even both)....

But if I had to chose it would be Bergkamp and van
Basten......
