Why cant we be like any other sport and have promotion and relegation.?
Surely like any sport you build structure and if your successful you progress through the divisions and on the way build a fanbase as you go along. I have always believed that you should earn what you get not be given it.For years we have given special dispensation to teams,quins,cats,crusaders,to have as many overseas as they wanted but other than the cats who have really showed it works.Quins with attendences less than 3,000,crusaders bottom of the league.Why cant they progress through the divisions and build a fanbase and a structure by earning it.?

I have always thought promotion and relegation is a must whatever the sport.It makes virtually every game all season important and something to play for,as it is now teams who cannot make the eight are just going to experiment with nothing to play for towards the end of season.!

I agree that you cannot have a salery cap in th way we do and then have promotion and relegation - you cannot handicap the best run teams and then relegate them. If you had a salery cap base don your income as a club then that would be much fairer.
I also agree that the salery cap is the way to go - even I got bored watching wigan win every year.

Promotion and Relegation in every other sport?
Are we now to consider the likes of Speedway and Ice Hockey as "non-sports" now then. Their supporters will be pleased!
