Baptista was a weird one. Had all the attributes to be a smash in the Prem but for whatever reasons he never found his feet. He looked so awkward in English football. Reyes was an immensely gifted player but as with so many rare talents his attitude held him back. Shame really...

It's worth mentioning Bendtner. He was a beast in youth football and at 19 had the world at his feet. Juve is obviously a very good move for him but he's missed those heights we all expected him to hit.

And then there's Vela. When we signed him he was this small nippy forward in the mould of fowler who could finish anything and everything. 3 years out on loan shunted his development and when he did eventually get here, he wasnt the same, despite early promise.

It wasn't Reyes' attitude, he was home sick. He was a fantastic player for us.

I appreciate he was homesick. But after a great start he had the propensity to blow hot and cold. Could have been a world beater but quite simply he lacked mental strength.

I got the impression when Reyes started getting kicked around, he wasn't up for it anymore. I always use him as a template when fans go wild about an import, who has started well or moan about one, who hasn't.

Reyes and Ronaldo were at the same level when they both first arrived. 2 frustrating BUT talented players and compare the 2 now, big disappointment!

Eboue looked amazing that CL final year.
