Swindon next...

I was at the last three Swindon v Villa games and we won all three (including a 5-0 thrashing at Villa Park back in 1994, though the Robins handed a debut to their reserve keeper that day).

This'll be a tough one - we're in transition, Swindon are on the way up. Paulo Di Canio doesn't let his players rest up for even a second of the 90 minutes, and they play good attacking football. I'm expecting a few goals, and probably not a repeat of '94.

I'd take a 2-1 win, and I hope we take this game as seriously as the City match.

Good draw for us. I'm expecting you to win but I think we'll give you a game. Should be entertaining!

I think we will take this seriously.
Lambert is only too well aware of the possible ways a lower league club might try to hurt us; hes managed the likes.
I may regret saying this however.....
As well as swindon are playing, I think too many factors point towards a comfortable night overall for the villa

Assuming Villa do take it seriously, which I think they will, it'll be a tough ask for us - no doubts about that. However, it's still a month away, and who knows what the teams' form & morale will be by then. A healthy mid-table Villa will be a tougher proposition than a stuttering team, nervous of a relegation scrap. Given our stunning record against higher division opponents over the last 12 months, if Villa don't go about their business with conviction, they'll reap a rude awakening. I think it's a really good cup draw, the prospect of a good contest, and I'm really looking forward to it...

Van,
Don't take history as a guideline. In the past, we never lost to the pox. Have done now, 3 times in a row I think!
How Villa can plan for this one is beyond me. We don't know what side DiC will put out on the night, let alone your lot! You can send your guys to watch us, but I bet that they come back with a different report each time.

Villa will take it seriously, it's a realistic chance of silver for them. They have a good manager, are improving and will a tougher proposition by the time we play them.

That said we're also improving and have home advantage. They'll be favourites but we'll have nothing to lose. I think a good game of football is in prospect and I give us an outside chance. Whatever the outcome I'm sure I'll be proud of the way we perform.
