Dc,
The thing is we are under no illusion with Sammy, some days he's excellent some days he needs a kick up the rear.
I could NEVER see Lafferty ripping us apart the same way Sammy did against Rangers.

Gael I could have said exactly the opposite, word for word. I never expected to see Sammi dae that at new year,so stranger things have happened

I know Celtic fans wont want to admit it but Lafferty more than has it in him to put celtic to the sword.

Dont get me wrong - hes not my favourite player by a long shot. But in the run in playing off Jelavic he was excellent and a constant goal threat.

It seems sammys NY performance has become stuff of legend. Lets not get carried away - I was at that game. Samaras was aided by a poor decision by McGregor and some very Naive defending by Ness on his debut.

Apart from that he just did OK and Weir had a bad day.

Samaras did nothing special that day. It was a terrible game and both teams were poor. But it now seems to be fondly remembered as some sort of Smaras striking masterclass which I find frankly baffling.

What kind of poor decisions or Naive defending did , Bougherra make

You've spent the best part of 3 seasons giving Lafferty stick...the boy has got himself a break from it recently

The point with Ness was he should have taken Samaras out on the touchline. It would have been a free kick and probably yellow card but do you think someone like McCulloch would have let Samaras prance into the box the way he did?

Listen - Lafferty has been inconsistent and immature. Its not to say he hasnt shown spells of real promise in that time.

Hes settled down off the park and at the end of last season he was given a run in his favoured position with a great partner in Jelavic - and he delivered big time.

To write off a striker who scores an excellent hat trick on the last day of the season when the pressure is on to win the league is just plain foolish.

The bin man was playing...the thoroughbred that he is

I never said he wasnt playing.

I said he wouldnt have handled the situation the way Ness did.

Are you really that dim you didnt get that?

Worrying.
