Race for the year end ranking

With Federer going to Shanghai, the race for the year end ranking is well and truly on
But the question that remains is whether the race is now just between Federer or Djokovic or does it include Murray?
Can Murray catch up with Federer and Djokovic, does he want to or would/should he rather make a run for the no1 ranking in 2013?

It will be a sad day if Murray takes number one (properly, at the year end, not for a week or two) with Novak and Federer around at this level. I can't see it happen.

I can't wait for the WTF.

Murray to make number 1? Can't see it to be honest. I don't think he is strong enough mentally to carry the crown.

Some of you lot are desperate!! What will your next hurdle be when Andy completes the number 1 spot!

Im looking foward to seeing Andy again at the WTF!
No doubt another week of coporate entertainment
on behalf of my my favourite Logistics provider
Maybe i will give Gimelstob and Drewett a swerve for lunch this time, they were too much at Wimbers!!

Desperate for what exactly LogieB?
If Andy is no1 then he is no1,besides why don't I see you ever attacking those who claim Federer benefited from a "weak era" ?
Bit hypocritical dont you think?

Vee-Jay, Vee-Jay, Vee-Jay!

Desperate to see Andy fall at every major hurdle put in front of him!
Instead of people saying he "cant" or "wont" acheive certain goals, maybe people should ask the question of him rather than insinuating on him!!

As for your quote that i dont "attack" those who claim Fed benefited from a "weak era" - he did, didn't he? So why attack! Im sorry if im missing something here! Hypocrisy is not somthing that is generally levelled at me, so i would apreaciate you thoughts?

Well done old chap on keeping the replies short on this occasion - un like myself

If Federer benefitted from a weak era then I want to see the proof please
I would also like to know why I have never heard any professional in the game claim Federer benefitted from a weak era
As for being a hypocrite, seriously doubt you would ever say Murray benefited from a weak era if he had won a slam or two during Federers prime years

No one is desperate for Andy to fail,he is the 4th best player, and has been for a while, until he proves he can be the best he will always fall short of expectation,so no need to wish for him to fail cause he most likely will anyway

If you do the math Murray won't be #1 this year, the earliest he can realistically challenge is Australian Open in January/February.

You're right Bill, number 1 spot is a step to far this year, but certainly a possibility at AO.

AO is suddenly a massive Slam for Nole, if he loses that then that's a year without a Slam win.

How is nole going to end the year? He has not done much last year's fall has he?
