Dougie passes the ten game test!(after 9)

Back in May, I said I would give Dougie ten games in the new season before calling for his head!
Regardless of what happens in the tenth game, I think he's done enough to convince me that he is our best option going forward. I must admit, after the first three, I was not my usual optimistic self but you can't argue with seventh place and four wins out of five. I know we've ridden our luck once or twice but a good team needs to be a lucky team too!
If we can get a top ten finish, I'll be happy. a play-off place would be the icing.
What does anyone else think?
It's beginning to sound like a catch-phrase but....is there anybody out there?

10 league games after Wolves and Burnley.

I agree with the above but won't get too worked up as we had a good September last year. Definitely progressing and for a change I feel more confident and excited about heading down to Selhurst.

At Cardiff there was only 12k odd people but there was a lot more noise than usual (from Block E at least) and we are having shots! Some of those are even on target! So if you can get down to Selhurst I recommend doing it sooner rather than later. I know the Burnley game is a family day but if there are any deals on tickets I will (or someone else) post on here.

Must admit i was surprised with the Cardiff attendance. 14K + seems to be the norm so maybe that game was a one off and with the team performing better the attendances may rise.

There should be a bigger crowd for the Burnley game but I don't think a lot of people have the time or money to go regularly and 14K might be the average.

I keep seeing the terms "modern football" and "sky season tickets" I think the only way we can fill out Selhurst is like the weed and lure some plastics. Obviously the difference is Palace is a roller-coaster ride and you don't remain a plastic for long! If they can't handle the ups and downs they'll go back to the safety of their living rooms

Great result against Wolves tonight!! I must be dreaming. Hey, I want to hear from HastingsEagle - just reread the "Laurel & Hardy in Charge" posts just a few short weeks ago...
... I do appreciate that hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I wasn't exactly vocal in my support for the Doog three games in!

Hello Cayman Islands Eagle and all others.
I guess DF must have read my 'Laurel & Hardy' thread before pinning it on the wall of the dressing room .
It looks as though a sea-change has indeed occurred!

I am as delighted as everyone else at the massive improvement and attitude in all departments. It just illustrates what many were saying in the darker times as to what was needed. I also concede that those that stuck by DF through blind hope and little else were also right in their belief that he would come good eventually.

We can only speculate as to what led to this transformation but it has been resounding and fantastic and incredibly uplifting.
The new players are looking to be very good additions and the tactics have been turned on their head.It looks as though the team and management fear no one and let's be honest after beating Bolton,Cardiff and Wolves, why should they?

Suffice to say that bums will be returning to seats, or at least we all hope so. My behind will return against Millwall and I have mine and the son's ticket already. I also have two tickets for the Ipswich night game and can't wait for the weed home match to come round.

What a difference a few weeks can make in football. Let's look forward now to a successful season all singing from the same hymn sheet as they say. Who knows where this season will take us when we're in this mode?

Ps
Laurel and Hardy have left the building...........

I don't want to kill the good vibes we finally have going but I'm more nervous about the Burnley and Millwall games than the last 3. We all expect to win, hopefully the players don't ease off. And I can't even imagine losing to those *******s from up the road!

A few people have been convinced to come on Saturday to see Zaha and I just saw he's a doubt? But to quote Hastings "at least we still have KG"

Hastings, I'm sure you already know but the Millwall game is at 1pm not 3pm. I wouldn't want anyone turning up late.

I agree, been thinking the same about the next two games especially what I consider the top rival game.

Reminds me of when we had that 15 game streak with Warnock, than faced them Clowns, round 2008.

But whatever occurs, it’s what happens after that next defeat – hopefully not too soon, but like The Doug says, we just gotta keep asking questions from Our opponents.

Would love to win Saturday week and even better if we were two down after 30 minutes. Talking of which Anyone else notice the crowd at0-1 or even 0-2 down, doesnt.t matter we're still gonna win. Scary the swagger we are playing with now. Doog if you are reading don't go 0-3 down or even better don't go even 0-1 down. Please.

Even 2-0 down I was convinced we would still win. The only annnoying thing about it is that 4-3 and 3-2 makes it seem a lot closer than it was. I had a Chelsea fan in the pub say "4-3 you got lucky!" We are playing much better overall football and could have won 5-0 (but we're saving the 5-0 for next home game )

You have to see it to believe it! That's what they should say to increase attendances
