George Boateng

In his day he was a good defensive midfielder with motivational skills. I'd be amazed though if he's a first team regular for next season. You have far better at the minute and to be perfectly honest, the decision to sign him has been greeted with a bit of suprise.

You never know, he may be just whats needed at times but I definately wouldnt be expecting too much if I were you. Good luck anyway. This seems like the longest close season in history, Ive even been watching womans footy!!!

Was really good for us but I'd imagine he's well passed his best now.

George Boateng was a legend for us and (Juninho aside) my favourite boro player of all time.

IMHO outside of the top three who had Viera, Keane and Makelele he was the best in the league.

The guy would run through Walls, run the hard yards and win challenges that where 70/30 again never mind 50/50; an absolute warrior!

No at 35 plus year of age I can't see him having the legs to go box to box and dominate midfield the same way, but if you just ask him to play like Makelele, just in front of the back four he could be a quality player for you!
