If you hadn't realised the sitting or standing debate has reared it's head again,
http://yougov.co.uk/news/2012/05/14/should-standing-areas-return-football-stadiums/
I'd like to know what the strength of feeling of football fans is over the subject and on JA606 there's as good a cross section of fans to gauge the feeling as anywhere.
My personal view is, that I'd love to return to standing. Going to a football match lost much of the enjoyment for me with the advent of being forced to take a seat at a match. I realise that many JA606 members will be to young to remember it, but I loved the atmosphere, being able to stand with all your mates and sing till your hearts content, swaying in a packed terrace and move around.
I fail to understand the argument over safety if the numbers are correctly policed, although I would understand the views of those against it, particularly those affected by Hillsborough. However I believe I should have the choice to decide whether I can go to a match and stand or not, as much as those people have the right to wish to be seated, and they wouldn't have that right taken away from them.
I'm interested as to what the opinion of other football fans on the board think, and what their reasons are for their opinion - so come on - have your say!
Sitting - or standing?

Hickey recounts a story of some of his boys, who were also TA Paratroopers dealing with a nutter with a meathook in the Ilderton Road end. They went on to fight in South Africa and Rhodesia and apparently they said that outside at Millwall that day was the most scared they have ever been in a crowd.
