Why are Spurs being touted around as a Rival for Chelsea?
Rivalries are built on meaningful competition between 2 teams. As far as im concerned Tottenham are miles behind Chelsea. Its the same as calling Bolton a rival to Manchester City.
You could argue that the CL games against Liverpool were more meaningful games, and i havent seen any games against Tottenham mean anything since.
Does this make Liverpool a bigger rivalry than Tottenham??

Liverpool used to be a massive club. I am pretty sure they will be again when they pass through this rather lengthy transitional period.
Spurs on the other hand have never been a huge club, except in the minds of the fans. They will never be a true rival to Chelsea.
