Sometimes it's up to the strikers to find their way into the game when the opposition is defending well and pressing hard. This is what separates the good strikers from the best in my opinion. They have better link-up play with the other players, they have better positioning and a knack of being in the right place to pick the ball up etc.

Don't think you are right here. United conquered the ball in midfield or at least keep the ball. We lost it too easily didnt manage to come into the challenge. On every occassion we were second best. They exposed our back then after winning the ball.

How can you find the way back in the game when you dont get the ball?

YCBC. We had the same problems even with van Pumps. Yes he scored but some were tap ins. Please dont forget that. He would have scored today if Vermaelen didnt make an easy mistake.

What happened today was what happened today. I'm not disagreeing with you. I agree completely that there was no bite in the middle and we were second to almost every ball for much of the match. This is an entirely different problem and another one we need to face.

We have serious problems and we need to buy and not only a striker. Our best player was Mannone today that said it all.

Yes, I thought Mannone made a couple of top-top saves that kept us in the match. I was ready to shout in anger for what looked a certain goal and then he totally surprised me. Credit to him and his character.

Ultimately, who knows what we need. We can speculate but perhaps we need to have more faith in the squad, give them more time to build the team chemistry and come back from injuries/play themselves into form.

It's not really surprising (some of the recent results) we always have a dip around this time of year, perhaps it's just come a little bit earlier than normal.

Where are the goals going to come from. No issues with G12 but i think is not suited to our type of playing.
