By now the dust is just about settling in certain quarters after today's alleged diabolical performance. A side riddled with injuries and under a transfer embargo due to it would seem an ignorance around tribunal rules, regulations and payments, as opposed to a deliberate overspend.
If you take away Storey's recent goals what does that tell you about this side, frankly we are floundering very much like we did in this period during Wilsons last season here. Heaven forbid.
That said, just examine the facts, Williams and Collins can't buy a goal right now, Roberts darts and sprints here, there and everywhere, but as soon as he gets the ball he is looking to get rid, then darts into another position looking for a return that doesn't come, because the hospital pass he just made. Ritchie, a shadow of what he can be, looks tired and worn out. Our two new mid fielders of Navaro and Miller, well I've yet to see either play two consecutive good games, in fact if you took Navaro off the field, would we miss him ?? For me Ferry eclipses both of them, but that is my opinion and may not be shared by others. Flint is letting exuberance get the better of him, and don't forget this is his first season at this level. The whole side is wanting, we don't have the consistency to string a run of much needed results together. Captain Alan is at times all over the place and during the last ten minutes of most games is very tired and the temper gets the better of him. Canioman's calming influence of Wray has gone, and the rants continue, and they are not even funny any more. He says he is a good manager, sorry son, with a mountain of cash you got us out of League Two last year, and you did make a raft of dodgy signings, most of which have been let go or bought off, that proves nothing. Look at what Tony Mowbray has done with no money at M'borough in two years, now that is good management .
I fear that if we don't get some sorting out done in January we will be struggling come April, and my fear with that will be that Ritchie is let go to fund a revival, and it will be on the cheap, just a fear, but I do have that feeling in my water and annoyingly its not often wrong, I hope it is this time.
Good manager, not yet, on the greater scheme of things he has achieved not a lot against decent League opposition consistently.
This season, well it swings like that old pendulum and my guess right now is tears again, we are very close to dropping like a stone and the dressing room I guess is not the cosy enclave it was last season. It could be, Game Over for Canioman.
What kind of season ?

I can see this going very pear shaped very soon. I notice the new chairman is doing a Q & A thing tomorrow at 17:30 hrs, seems an odd time to do so as many will be traveling to the game by then. It beggars the question, what news will he have or what will he be explaining.
I think Canioman is on borrowed time with the owners and the chop may be close, very close to hand. Too many players alienated, and I think he has lost the dressing room. Flint now out for four, Troy misfiring, Devera weak, Jay Macca blowing hot and cold and Thompson still a relative novice. Alan Macca found out this season to be lacking in every way, and all that is just the back line.
Caddis went and the rot moved in, Williams and Collins, not working out, Rooney misfiring and has become a portable lump of lard, Roberts afraid of the ball, won't tackle or head the ball, Miller and Navaro really not the biz. I don't think any of the summer signings have worked, but his agent has had his fee, and continues to rule that side of the business.
I've said for a while it will end in tears and now Wray has gone Canioman is bound to be next. i think Wilson will have the last laugh tomorrow with a polished performance and a comfortable win. We are very close to dropping down the league like a stone with the current dis array in the dressing room. A calming influence is needed, big time.

Spot on!

Totally agree! This last outburst, blaming the players he signed & coached! Of course, it isn't his fault, he needed more good money to throw after bad.
IMO the guy is a shyster. I'd settle for any normal level headed manager now, to work with the players we have. I don't think that they are a bad lot. Good enough to keep us in this league.
He is all mouth & no substance - can't choose a right player, can't coach, & can't keep everyone happy, except himself.
Also, on a personal note, I can't understand what he says in his interviews, mind you I am a bit mutton!

Players out injured,
Alan Macca, Miller, Bessone, Navarro, Bostock, Coke and Troy is suspect with after effects of severe cramp and Flint is suspended for four games.
I can see Wilson smacking his lips here, and I am cautious, I just cannot see us coming out of this with any credibility, unless its all hype.
Does anybody else see the similarities between this season and Wilsons last, in both instances the Captain went and the rot set in, and are we seeing the same disintegration within the changing room that occurred then. I'm rather surprised that nobody has given him a fat lip after being named and shamed, I wouldn't mind betting a few have thought about it ! LOL!

2 things can happen tomorrow. We win & all is sweetness & light. We lose, & it is the players at fault again. Either way, DiC will come out smelling of roses.
We have got a big enough squad to put a decent side out. But, they are ordinary players, will not upset a good side without uprooting any trees themselves.
Sometimes hard pruning has to be done, but not at the moment.

Getting ready for the off to CG. I see they have Kitson and their goalie out of action, but they do have tallish back line so the hoof ball should not be an option tonight.
Some how I cannot see us winning this, sorry if that sounds negative but we simply cannot score unless Storey plays which shows the shear dire ineptitude of Collins and Williams. Rafts of players out injured as well.
New Chairman Bill Patey to do some sort of announcement at 17:30 hrs dunno what that is about perhaps some kind soul can shed some light on that subject.
Big rumours on the block that Adkins has been tapped up about coming here should Canioman go there.

Embargo lifted, expect frantic activity from tomorrow!
As Red says we have a big enough squad to put out a decent side. Strangely I'd prefer a game like this tonight rather than an 'easier' one...after Saturday you'd expect some sort of positive reaction surely.
I'm going for 1-1.

I don't like to be pessimistic, but if we have a depleted squad tonight, better to lose against a top side than against one where we should get the points.
The ones playing must know that their future at Swindon is in balance, Don is right, it's a good game to have after Saturday, rather than have to stew for a week.

0-0, could have been a lot worse!

What can you say about last nights game. An objective over view would state that the home fans were enraged over a referee that was spineless from the outset, since when has a bear hug around a player been legal with the ref just yards away. One could also read that Sheff.Utd came and set out their stall for a point, and didn't really engage in a football game that involved passing the ball, controlling areas of the pitch, or mounting purposeful attacks. they did none of that. Four big guys strung across the back, big guys, big muscle and they bundled and pulled and pushed us off the ball. the ref was a complete waste of space. You could objectively say the Town tried to play well, but S.U just randomly broke up any passage of play we tried to put together, and then enter S.U's 12th man, we started to hoofball. total rubbish. By-pass their midfield, but hang on, what is the point, the ball never found our man and theirs are all over 6ft.
Quite how Roberts survived until his substitution is beyond most, RDV being the far better option.
A word for our back four, they were all valiant in their efforts. Thompsons both played well, RDV a success when he came on, Jay Macca six stitches after the game in a forhead gash, Devera did well, Ferry ok as captain, Williams muscled and bundled off the ball all night and the ref did naff all. A largely forgettable game spoilt by the ref, it could and should have been something better.
