De Rossi

Morning guys.

Dont know if you have heard recently, but in the last few days Roma have stated they would be open to offers for De Rossi. A lot of this seems to be down to the falling out he has had with the coach.

City apparantly were in for him in the summer but Roma chose not to sell him but for the right price would listen to offers.

In my opinion, De Rossi would be the perfect midielder that we so badly need. He is strong, can tackle, can pass really well and has good leadership skills. For around £30 million we can certainly tempt Roma. For a player of his quality, I cannot think of many players who play in his position that are much better. He is also 30 which I understand there is no resale value but like RVP, he is in the twilight and prime of his career and would fit right in.

People in the past have talked about the likes of Modric, Ozil, Moutinho, but none of them are actually what we need.

There are 3 midfielders which I would like at the club (realistic) and thats De Rossi, Schweinsteiger or Sneidjer. I think any of the 3 would suit our playing style and would fill that void which so deseperatly needs filling.

Anderson is not the answer, I dont want to sound negative but a few passes here and there does not take away the fact that he is unfit and is very inconsistent.

Cleverley is a decent player but for a club the size of United, a player like Cleverley should be used as a squad player only. He is average and we should be honest that he is getting more hype due to being English. This is understandble due to the romanticism we have with Paul Scholes.

Giggs is not a midfielder and neither is Rooney.

Rooney should be playing behind the striker or up front, SAF is playing him in midfield which doesnt get the best out of him, take last night for example he was terrible in the midfield, against Arsenal he wasnt great either. He would be best served as a free roaming number 10 who should not have to chase the opposition full backs around because we need to get possession back.

Nevertheless, I hope SAF moves for De Rossi, I think he would be amazing for us and we can play the following 2 systems with him -

De Rossi Carrick

Valencia Rooney Nani

RVP

Valencia De Rossi Carrick Nani

Rooney

RVP

We can then finally play a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 with a top quality box to box midfielder.

All thoughts are welcome.

VC, I don't know why it's that difficult for him to realise.

If you have a best team you play it all the time. We don't do this which leads me to the conclusion he doesn't have one. And I believe it's because he doesn't know what it is. Whether I'm right with that or not I can't be certain as it's conjecture, but the fact he doesn't have a best team is not.

Cazorla is knackered. We have the best squad in the country and that will win us the league this season.

Darren

We have a best team in mind but injuries are the reason it doesn't get played!

How hard is that to realise?

Now the injuries are easing we'll see it more.

Bye!

Please stop talking crap. Your supposed team is not getting played because SAF likes to give all the squad members game time. And that will not change throughout the season.

He certainly did not pick his 'best team' for the biggest game last season, did he?

Now take last night for example, he rested Rio and Rafa. he played a guy that hasn't played all year, a crap old guy in cm and a young striker on the left wing.

Haha nah I'm sure injuries are the reason for 6 years of continual rotation.

As much as I like De Rossi, at 30, if we were to sign him, he'd give us 2 or (if we sign in this Jan)2 and a half years at best. That is around 12-15million per season. We all complained when we got one year out of OwenH and he cost 17million.

De Rossi would fetch 30million because City are willing to pay that much. With the state Italian footy is in, if City weren't interested I'm sure he'd be going for around 15-20million.
