Political correctness

Gone mad. The society of black lawyers say they are going to report Tottenham Hotspur to the police for singing 'We are the yìd army' as its apparently racist.

Aye it'd be racist if they were using it in a derogatory way, to discriminate others but they aren't. They're using it as a means to defy other fans Redcoat chanting of them. Its their way of owning the y word, much in the same way as black people using the n word.

Call me cynical, but I honestly think the society of black lawyers are just using this for publicity, and couldn't give a toss about spurs or their fans. Its all about context and there's not much wrong with the way spurs fans use that word. People are far too soft these days, and political corrects has been allowed to take the pïss

Rickboy - what sickens me about the p/c brigade is that they seem more concerned about so called 'human rights' of low-lifes - meanwhile old people are frightened in their houses at night or too scared to go out and nobody gives a sh it

The society for black lawyers.

They sound an all inclusive bunch.

I wonder what would be said if you had a society for white lawyers
Would that be racist?

This is obviously a tricky area nowadays.

But I think it comes down to this.

If the use of a term is racist or derogatory when used by one section of society to describe another, then that's it, no one should use it. "Owning it" is nonsense.

Makes it a lot simpler.

Is it an infringement of freedom of speech? Perhaps, but if it saves just one incident of trouble, which right now football does not need (especially the EPL), then it is worth it.

That's it I've changed my mind I am going to start the 'White, Irish, Catholic, Fat, non-ginger' Society.

Membership £100 - send cheques to IfUNo PO Box 100 - make payable to 'cash'

I also find it disgusting that people are receiving prison sentences now for posting jokes online.

Its getting to the point where we're not allowed to say anything

Banning words and phrases ain't the answer. Pierre need to grow thicker skins, grow more tolerant or just rise above it.

These jokers reported Mark Clattenburg to police without having any proof whatsoever. Dangerous group imo

The first case ever when the race Relations Law was introduced was a Black lawyer suing a garage because their dog only barked at Black people.

He lost the case and many such suits have also resulted in failure. However, be aware, the PC brigade are in the ascendancy (look at the Scottish Sectarian Act) and we will soon lose our right to voice our opinions an anything.

The time has come to tell our politicians to stop stealing from us, start telling us the truth and stop interfering in our lives.

Only problem is, no matter what party, they are all at it.

Time for revolution.
