I tell you what, this years SPL is tighter than my sphincter while watching Rylan on the X-Factor.
In the interest of competition, there are only two results that everyone has to be hoping for today - a win for Dundee United against Hibs, and a win for St Johnstone against Celtic.
If those results come to pass we'll have FOUR teams all on 21 points at the top of the league - for that to be the case at the middle of November will be fantastic for the competition. You'll also have two teams on 19 and another on 18 - 7 teams within three points of the league. That will be incredible.
So come on the Terrors and the Super Sainties!
The SPL

As long as both Hibs and Dundee Utd score today Ivan
I have a hefty wad riding on this fixture and will scoop £5.09 profit should the gods smile upon me.

Celtic having two games in hand and having the distraction of European football with no real worry about domestic slip ups only skews the table.
With time Celtic will open a sizeable gap and the only scramble will be for second.
With only one dominant team though and all non OF team effectively being -20 points before a season even starts means that the winning gap should not be as big as some people think.
I also think it further emphasises what I have been banging on about for years now, a bigger league and only playing each other twice will lead to a more competitive product.

Agree, it really only is a matter of time before Celtic have a 10-15pt lead....but enjoy the tightness when it lasts

I was actually thinking about putting up something similar, when was the last time we had 3 teams joint top of the league in mid November???
I think St Johnstone could get something today, and if Celtics domestic form continues to be up and down while theyre in Europe then best of luck to them. I'd say they will certainly be playing European football into the new year. And if the league stays tight till then it will be fabulous, ironically it seems to be Rangers fans who want Celtic to open up a huge gap at the top of the league as if in some way it justifies that the league is poor without them when in actual fact its the best the SPL has been for years. Hopefully Dundee can close the gap a bit too.
Wins for St Johnstone and United today would be amazing Ivan, and it would also mean the winner of next Fridays big game at Tannadice would go either top or joint top of the league. And i'll be there

westcoastarab, spot on It's only rangers fans that will talk down the league this year.
Oh Celtic aren't 10 points clear at the top ach they must be Shiite! However our decent showing in Europe cr@ps all over that theory.
If we were running away with the league they would be moaning about the lack of competition and poor standard of the league. You won't win with these guys so don't listen to them. Their opinions don't matter anyway seeing as they will never return to the SPL.

£5.09 win - both teams to score on top of a 10p profit yesterday - it really doesn't get much better than this
