Methinks Cesar might be being a tad fanciful with his words there.

If true which it probably is its another pathetic choice from Arsenal and Arsene. A top class keeper who becomes available and is the right age to not push Szez further down the order.

We probably couldn't afford the 70k per week as we want to pay JD and Squid cash for doing nothing.

The only way he went to QPR is because they offered him ridiculous wages and there would be no point in us offering him that if he was gonna be a backup

For what it's worth, just shooting from my ample hip. Cesar has looked like a comedy lookeylike from the world class keeper I remember from Inter Milan. Granted the QPR defence is hardly watertight, but still, Cesar, give or take the odd wonder save has looked garbage this season, wouldn't you say?

He's a great shot stopper (something we've never needed)

Not so great at commanding his area and at set pieces (what we're crying out for)

He's not been great at QPR and his positioning is suspect, but he is certainly better than Mannone. It would have been a reasonable purchase for us.
