Just a small taste of Khmer football, in case anyone's Sunday is too relaxed.

Not that it compares, but the lure of watching a game, any game, sometimes takes you to strange places. Years ago I was travelling from Scotland to my workplace Bolton of a midweek evening, and noticed that there was a Freight Rover Trophy match between Carlisle and Scarborough, so I detoured. I sat with the Scarborough faithful and counted thirteen of us in total. It chucked it down with rain and, having arbitrarily aligned myself with Scarborough, saw "us" lose comfortably. They let us out of the ground at half-time to visit the pie vans and I had the best I have ever tasted at a match. Possibly a wet Wednesday night in Carlisle doesn't compare with the exoticness of Cambodia (the Dead Kennedys never had a hit with "Holiday in Carlisle", did they?), but it's the same thing. Ooh, a match, let's watch!

I did similar in Dublin a few years ago - went to watch Drogheda United play Helsingborg in a UEFA Cup game at Dalymount Park. There were a load of Celtic fans there supporting Helsingborg because Henrik Larson was playing for them. 1-1 draw

Did similar last summer - was on holiday in Scotland and popped in to watch Inverness v Rangers. Beautiful views all round, great away following, once in a lifetime opportunity.
Got to say I envy 2Wellies a bit although Cambodian food wouldn't agree with me! Presumably you get a real at half time
