Hound
I have just been on the VSC site, there is a post from a Rovers supporter at the game wanting to know whty their supporters make so much noise. In fact he said there was more noise after we scored to try and get ttheir team bulled up.
Rovers fans at the Keepmoat are a very sick lot in general. They love to complain all the time.

Interestingly enough when i have just looked at the full league table for our division, five of the top eight clubs have better away records than home ones.
Tranmere, Swindon, Notts County, Rovers and Stevenage have all picked up more points on the road than at home.

The noise at Portsmouth could also be due to the fact that there are twice as many supporters at their games than ours.
As for the VSC site - dont you think that in general they are a load of whingers anyway?
At the Bourmouth game when the team broke from the handshake routine and ran to the home end the whole section stood up and applauded the team.
Dont tell me that in general the fans arent behind the team.
It is easy from afar as you are to get sucked in by comments from moaners.

I hear the comments Hound. I accept that they are those around the commentary position, but it gets on your nerves when all you can hear is Rubbish, Get him off and I hear that at all home games. I am trying to show the difference between home fans and away fans and why we are not making the Keepmoat a fortress.
With the number of away wins added to what should be more home wins, we would be top of the league. The crowd at home games is supposed to be the twelfth man, not in our case it isn't. I also think that there are many who go to home games who want us to lose because they have never accepted that Saunders is tha manager and we play different football in League One.

drfIchound.........your views on the home fans are spot on.
The crowd generally get behind the team, one or two wingers near me but mostly ok.If you are paying say £50 + for a familly then I think if you are not happy with the performance then you may have a right to moan a little, but no one sets out to moan surely.
Newyankee, honestly the last 2 home games I have seen have been terrible to watch plus the Preston and Brentford.Really its not good, I not having a go at you hound was also there and the fans have been quite understanding really.

As far as noise and atmosphere is concerned Doncaster have always tended to be poor. I've seen them pick it up for big games but the run of the mill matches have often lacked atmosphere.
The VSC are trying to improve this with work on standing sections and singing sections but our mentality is not right. I read the VSC boards after the Crewe defeat and we had a team of carp players again. Even though this players had just won 4 on the bounce. Gary Woods got stick for the goal Bournemouth scored. Woods had played well (more despite the fans) and even had them begrudgingly admitting it. One mistake and he's rubbish again. Frankly it's pathetic.
One thing I love about Winti is how you get so little negativity from the fans. Yesterday we committed hara-Kari from a corner because the players who too busy having a go at each other about the mess they'd made of a corner (they'd conceded a second corner). While they were arguing with each other, the second corner went in the back of the net. NOT A MURMOUR FROM THE FANS.
I mentioned it to someone at half time. "Schade happens "was his reaction. We have lots to learn

Well all I want6 to say is that justice was done, after recent games against them, who we appear to dislike for cheatin. Portsmouth 0 DRFC 1 AND infront of their own lot. suites me, the crowd of 11,700 must be a worry though as they usually can stick another 6000 on. They must be saving up to buy the club.SHAME SHAME SHAME HA HA HA
