Another season gone...

Well what can I say ladies and gents, that was easily the best season in F1 I have seen to date, thoroughly entertaining, on the edge of my seat for pretty much every race, today was no exception! Congratulations to Seb Vettel on winning the championship (again), a fantastic feat he has achieved, however I cant help myself but to be honest and (though I am a Hamilton fan) express my sorrow that Alonso didn't win it. This year will go down as a memorable one on the track in my opinion, in the modern age of F1 this goes down in the same ranks as 2008 and 2010, where the championship has gone right down to the wire in the most unpredictable circumstances, so now its over, we have to wait, for the lights out, on the first race date! Here are a few things I have found interesting after this season to chat about and would like to hear other opinions. So where to start, I think the big story of recent weeks is the obvious place!

- SCHUMACHER retiring, leaving the gap for HAMILTON to go to Mercedes works team, sorry to repeat what 24250 other people have said, but its obvious, it was a huge gamble. Not sure if it will pay off though. However I cant wait to find out in a few months time..
- Now Vettel, some say he will stay at Red Bull, others believe he will leave for Ferrari at the end of next season, at the moment I believe he has no reason to leave Red Bull and I wouldn't say it is a silly premonition to speculate that he will extend his contract mid 2013 season, obviously depending on Red Bulls pocket depth and Newey's genius continuing.
- Alonso, I don't know what to think at the moment, I never really got over the 2007 farce between him, McLaren and Hamilton, don't snap at me people I never judge him on that, he is still a formidable driver! However, this is the 2nd time in 3 years that he has lost the championship on the last race to Vettel, though he took it better and more sportingly this year (we all remember his and Kubica's altercation at Abu Dhabi 2010). Going back to the point, I don't know how he is going to cope in future performances, I saw it on the TV when he got out of his car and gazed at Vettel, I saw a broken man in his eyes, almost likened to the look in Ricky Hatton's eyes lastnight as he got up, knowing he has been comprehensively, yet simply beaten...

However, this article has gone on for long enough, I'd like to hear everybody else's opinions of this season and next seasons potential (provided you all got this far and didn't get too bored reading).

Been emotional, ha, will keep the odd post going up here!

Speak to you all soon.

Aww leave Massa alone (though I did notice those glassy eyes haha), its been an emotional year for him, he nearly lost his Ferrari seat and I personally reckon a good podium finish in front of his home crowd with all that support, and his family with him, that is exactly what he needed to get into a good place, I can see him being pretty damn fast next season!

It was a great year and very entertaining. What I liked the most this year was the out there results, like Pastor Winning and Perez looking supreme until he signed for Mclaren.

It was also nice to see the reconciliation at Mclaren between Whitmarsh, Hamilton and Button. Was a shame about the reliability for Mclaren or they would have won both championships this season.

Whilst I'm not a fan of Vettel, his achievement is remarkable and truth be told, I worry about Alonso as he looks a beaten man.

As for Hamilton's move to Mercedes, he needs to prepare himself for battles with the Force Indias, Torro Rossos and the Saubers. That team has gone backwards massively and will take a miracle to get them on top again.

Brawn signing Costa was a mistake, he got the sack from Ferrari for designing ps poor cars.

If Vettel is still at RedBull next season, he'll be a 4 time world champion halfway through the season. The only person that could stop him has moved to a poor team.
