Ronaldo vs Falcao

To anyone who might have thought, based on recent goalscoring records, that Falcao was up there as a footballer with Cristiano Ronaldo, last night was a perfect illustration of why he is nowhere near.

While Falcao is a superb player in and around the box, if you cut off the service to him you nullify his threat. Ronaldo can pose a threat from anywhere inside the opposition half, whether driving down the wing and opening up the defence to lay the ball off to a fellow striker or attempting to finish himself.

I've never been a huge Ronaldo fan and still consider him to be a fair distance behind a certain Argentinian, but he's still the second best attacking player in world football and no one else even comes close at the moment.

falcao isn't as good as the second best player in the world!?! Say it isn't so!

Too many Spaniards mate.

I only saw the goals, and with no replays at that, but I commented on the Liga thread that it was unbelievable West Ham's equaliser was given. Without the benefit of the replay, it looked as if their forward clambered all over your defender.

He told of how the Chelsea players were al downing pint after pint, and they thought they'd mash you the following day. They couldn't believe it when the next day you ran them into the ground. Physical fitness is something you've always had over us.

That said, Falcao seems ideally suited to Chelsea. They've got so much creativity in the side that it's hard to imagine Falcao not having a sufficient enough supply line for him to bag tons of goals.

it's - you seem to have answered your own question...

we were never in the market for Ron...or comparing him to Falcao as far as I knew

Hi Sheriff. Apologies if it came across that way, but I certainly wasn't referring to Chelsea fans in general. The thought was prompted by a discussion with A Chelsea fan.

Haven't heard anything at all yet. As far as the fans are concerned, I think those who don't like Mourinho would rather someone who awards greater importance to creation in midfield.

There's no word for 'hate' in Spanish.

"Odio" is close enough!
