Comparing our next 5 fixtures,
Man Utd...........................Man City
Sunderland (h)................Newcastle (a)
Swansea (a).....................Reading (h)
Newcastle (h)..................Sunderland (a)
West Brom (h).................Norwich (a)
Wigan (a).........................Stoke (h)
I think we should be looking at maximum points whereas City could drop some. Is it reasonable to think we could be starting 2013 more than 6 points ahead?

You clearly dont know your utd then, the amount of late close games/near draws/last minute goals/ losses/ draws in this fixture means you are infact an idiot.

so where did "and got a result against you" come into it, unless that result was losing.

City will probably get maximum points and it will be diffocult to take maximum points away to Swansea and Wigan.
I don't think there are any guaranteed points these days!

Swansea and Wigan will be our easiest games.

Why Batmanu?
Kagawa Are you kidding Swansea away will be tough and they could/will dominate for large periods of the game

On what basis will our two away matches be our easiest games? Certainly not due to the gulf in class between Newcastle, Sunderland, West Brom, Swansea and Wigan... surely?

Because their strengths match ours. They play it on the deck. We can defend against that all day, providing Scholes isn't in the side. Swansea are easily the best team of that group, however, I think we would be able to cope with their style of play easier than West Brom, and particularly Newcastle. Whether we're home or away, if our central defenders can't win headers then it wouldn't matter if the game was played on the moon.
I could be wrong. But providing Sir Alex picks an energetic side against Swansea and Wigan that can deal with getting pressed then I think we'll be alright.

I will be happy if man utd iwn there games, we don't have to worry much about man city. We still got to play them at Old traffordm who knows if its role reversal man utd take early title race lead city come back to retake lead before man utd overpowering them at the end.
Having said our fixture list is hard at the end of season so we need to get as clear as possible of man city.
