Usmanov vs Wenger

Usmanov told CNBC: "I always tell Mr Wenger he is one of the best coaches and football managers in the world, but I openly admit he has many, many difficulties to contend with."

"This decision [selling Van Persie] was a mistake. If I am one of Wenger's players, I would want to stay for the finish, but he explained Robin wanted to go to win trophies."

But Wenger said: "I believe I have always had the support from the board, and am very grateful for that."

"We have worked over the years in respecting in what we did, which is to always work within our financial resources."

"Therefore we made decisions which, from outside, looked not based on purely football reasons, but it was based as well on financial reasons."

So...who is bluffing?

Wenger is protecting the clubs name, and by proxy of that he's protecting the current board...

Wenger is bluffing, but he can't exactly attack the board who employ him.

It might be converting to the dark side but Usmanov has shown a really appetite of helping Arsenal.

One thing is for sure, all the big players that we can not financial afford would be a lot more gettable under Usmanov

from where i am sitting i can see that usmanov has more passion and interest on the footballing side for arsenal than the american will ever have.

Also i stopped believing in what Wenger says a long time ago, you cannot consistently believe someone that has a reputation of bluffing and coming out with utter crap every now and again.
