Yesterdays performance

Rooney was terrible yesterday. It should not take the manager 71 minutes to realise this before subbing him. He should be dropped and should only come back in the team after he earns his game time like everyone else. We have Welbeck on the bench who should be given game time and with Kagawa back Rooney should earn his way back in not played because the manager does not want to upset him.

Valencia was another culprit. His one dimensional way of playing is now getting found out by defenders. Never have I seen a winger who tries to cross every time he gets to the byline even if there is no one in the box, you know 99% of the time the defender will block it, he still does it. Nani is superior in every way but the manager will not play him.

Ashley Young. Had a poor game yesterday but atleast he tried. Everytime he had the ball he tried to cut back in or tried to get into the box. Still not good enough but made every effort to try something yesterday.

Cleverley was another player who did not know what to do yesterday. Passing side to side does not make you a good midfielder, sorry. I dont think he will ever be good enough to make the first 11, a decent squad player at best.

Jones is not a right back. He does not have the ability to play there and should play in his natural centre back position. We sorely missed Rafa yesterday and need to play a proper right back when he is missing.

Evra needs to stop switching off. He has a run of good games and then switches off. We need a proper left back to challenge him for his spot, I hop Fabio is ready to come back next season and challenge him as Buttner isnt good enough to challenge Evra just yet.

Carrick was absolutely superb yesterday. It is rare I give Carrick credit but he did the job of 2 midfielders yesterday. He played more advanced yesterday where he played some delicious passes, notably the one for Young in the first half where a good player would have put that in the net.

RVP. What a player, I can see why SAF signed him and thats because of Rooney having stinkers like yesterday. I am glad we can rely on him to have a good game as Rooney just turns up when he feels like it these days.

De Gea looks much more composed and confident, really looks to be the number 1 now.

Giggs showed how he can be useful yesterday. In a 20 minute cameo on the wing, this is his natural position and if he is played correctly and used sparingly he has something to offer.

Scholes is finished. Yellow card when he came on shows he cant keep up with the pace. The game is much quicker and no one will give Scholes time to dictate the pace.

Evans had a decent game but gave away possession too often, luckily we escaped, for Michu's goal could he have done better to stop him?

Hernandez had scraps to feed off but again showed his willingness.

Glad to see Vidic back, the defence looks more composed with him in it, SAF needs to decide who his regular partner is defence is to be and stick with it.

To summarise I thought Swansea was poor yesterday and we should have beaten them. I am not upset we drew but upset that we continue to play poorly, apart from Carrick and RVP, we had nothing going forward. All our creativity was coming from RVP, things must be bad if we have to rely on our centre forward to do this.

Carrick badly needs a "quality" midfielder to play alongside him.

Kagawa needs to be given a run behind RVP.

And if Nani is not coming back we need 2 new proper wingers, because at present we may as well have Stewart Downing in there the way Young and Valencia are playing.

SAF says he does not need any new signings in January? If he is serious about winning anything he will need to buy in January.

Each time I have watched Kagawa for us he has been class.

Has he really?? When?? And what does welbeck give us?

He's an option. What do you suggest that we sell him or dont play him at all? Everyone should be given a chance and after the way Rooney played last night I can guarantee Welbeck starting Wednesday and not doing any worse.

Also Kagawa has looked good when we played Fulham, he was excellent against Tottenham.

Even in the games when he was played on the left of the diamond (not his natural position) he had much better control, played some nice through balls for the striker, pressed and worked hard. Honestly do you even watch the team play?

Whilst Valencia has been poor recently, to say Nani is superior in every way is not entirely accurate.

Nani is the more frustrating player though

Scores goals, assists, a physical presence, not one dimensional, brings others into the game, never lets defenders rest in possession, bullies defenders, good first touch, runs behind defenders, doesn't always wait for the ball to feet and throughout his career at Utd hasn't had a game as bad as rooney did yesterday

Whilst Im not Welbeck's biggest fan Rooneys performance last night was the poorest this season by him.

The manager did not even shake his hand when he came off the pitch so you can imagine how livid SAF would have been.

Lets hope he's not too scared to drop him against Newcastle.

Nani is way better.

He can use his left foot, Valencia cant.

Nani doesnt just cross into the box when there is nothing on, Valencia does.

Nani has the same workrate and tracks back as much.

Nani can play on the left, Valencia cant.

Nani is as strong and fast as Valencia.

Nani has more skill than Valencia.

He is a goal threat, Valencia isnt.

Also goals / assists are the same.

To me Valencia is as frustrating as he cant do the basics, Nani just makes the wrong choice sometimes but he is willing to try things others dont, something we have missed since Ronaldo left.

please lets not even go there, valencia is sooooo far behind nani in terms of ability. you don't think valencia just breaking up almost every good move we make frustrating? dear lord! rafael is far superior to valencia in terms of both ability and tenacity, and yes i mean rafael da silva the fullback not to even mention nani.

We saw how poor we was on the right yesterday as both Jones and Valencia were immobile, everything went through the left.

Young atleast is more mobile and tried to make something happen but Valencia was terrible. We usually cover up for it by Rafaels forward ability.
