Maturity rules

One of the ways we can measure the development of maturity in an individual is to gauge that person or persons ability to accept their mistakes and understand what is really best for the community or team (in this case).
Now perhaps its true to say that Torres has not performed to expectations set by most of us. But he is performing and contributing the the current success rate of the team. Its us who have to adjust our expectations when the player is clearly trying his best to produce. And 7 goals from 8 games is not a bad tally. Credit to him and the management are due.
The same goes for the manager Benitez, he however is exceeding all expectations. And doing it faster than we could reasonably expect. With hindsight to work with we can say that under Rafa the team has clearly improved, leaking less goals and winning vital matches like last night. The measures put in place are working to good effect.
So we can also say that the decision to send Roberto on his way was the right one, despite appearing a ruthless decision. Fortunately we have people on the Chelsea board who are able to make the correct decisions.And tough ones as well.
Its still early to make full judgements , but I believe in the main most Chelsea fans will agree with this assessment. Those who are slow to keep their minds open and commit the blinkers to the laundry are by now in a minority.
Finaly after so long we are actually enjoying a turn of year period.
