Izale McLeod

Thoughts?

He is older now, and hopefully wiser.
He must be better than Jabo and McDonald.
He has still got pace and can score goals, ok he misses chances, but we create enough, the thing is this time around he wont be " the star ".

Yes he is a striker, but if he isn't good enough for Portsmouth why the %^& is Robbo looking at him.

Saying that if he scores 10 goals inthe next 3 games, I will put it down to poor management at Portsmouth and Robbo being astute, however, if he doesn't score I will take the contra view

I don't think he left Portsmouth because he wasn't good enough, he was on a 1 month rolling contract and that ended yesterday and has decided not to sign another one, he's scored 10 goals in league 1 this season which is more than any of our players this season, I will hold judgement on him until he's played 5/6 games and gotten used to the style and the team but I do believe it's a good move by Robbo and he's a free transfer so if it doesn't work out we only lose the money being spent on his wages

Yeah, fair point, hopefully Robbo will change the style to fit him, seeing as he is scoring goals

It will be interesting where he does play (assuming he is signed) as Lowe has been doing well. Will we convert to a 4-4-2 or will he or Lowe play in the hole?

Will we still have Bamford, injury premitting?

Would put my house on Robbo sticking with 4231. He'll go with Lowe initially, at least for the next match and will probably bring Izale on for half an hour at the end.

I believe Robbo will surprise us. He is too young to set stuck in his ways. I still see the formation as the same in principle but with more variation with Lowe and McLeod swapping places as needed (especially now Chadders is injured).

Lowe played with a striker for a lot of his career, hense the initial struggle when he signed for us, so it wouldn't suprise me if we went 4-4-2 untill Bleeson and Chadwick return.

Martin;
Otsemobor (when fit) Williams, Kay, Lewington;
Powell/Ismael, Smith, Potter, Bowditch;
McLeod, Lowe

Well it cetainly wont feature Bamford or Balanta as both have returned to their clubs according to the Dons latest press release eariler today. Will miss both of them, even if Bamford missed most of his loan period.

Still we should have enough players of talent to see us through - providing they start to finish in front of goal
