what i meant was that we've been in position where we could/should have got over the line but didn't for various reasons. i mean we are fighting teams with more finance but i still believe we have what it takes in the squad to win trophies, but i'm realistic enough to know it won't be easy with the other teams we are competing against.

That I did, but that doesn't contradict what I've said. The crux of my point was that Wenger may not have the influence that you suggest; highlighting the potential discrepancies between the figures needed to secure transfer targets was simply a response to the targets you suggested.

Ok. Well whoever is behind draging their heels and dilly dallying around over potential signings needs a good shake. My point is, if we have identified the guy we need we should be prepared to up the £ to secure the signing. We could have had him in already getting used to playing with the team and be ready to play by our first game. It just seems rediculous that they don't seem to see the advantages of getting the business done ASAP. It leads to us ending up with the second or third best target. Maybe it is not Wenger's fault but I would expect him to have a fair bit of clout.

Anyway on another note, have you seen Ibrahimovic play in the Audi cup in the last two days? One word - Quality!

I agree, and I hope the situation at board level is sorted soon to (hopefully) allow for a bit more investment.

Haven't seen the Audi Cup, but wholly agree that he is an incredible player. Strange it didn't seem to click at Barca :/
