Michael Johnson...what a wasted talents!

Midfielder Michael Johnson has been released from his £40,000-a-week contract by Manchester City http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jan/15/michael-johnson-released-manchester-city
..........................

I thought this guy would make it to the top when I first saw him playing in 2008...but 5 years later, his talents have been wasted. Many of these young players need proper counselling to be able to get through that teenage years...

Blue, BBC reported 40k, but Guardian reported 25k. Perhaps he meant 120k/month?

Either way, I'm sure you agree it is a massive amount of money wasted.

City were paying this clown for 3 years for not doing anything what a joke

that sums up all that is wrong with city tho. tbf they probably forgot he was still on the pay roll. not like they're gonna miss 120k a week is it

Perhaps we should operate our finances like the highland league outfit Rangers should we?

A shame to read that, the lads a year younger than me and I remember when he burst onto the scene and scored that goal against Derby.

Really thought he was destined for higher things.

People think that just because you've got money everything is alright. Lets see where this guy is in ten years and say if money has made his life any better than ours.

And despite all the money they make footballers seem to burn through it as fast as they own it

I anticipate a number of Merson types who finish thier careers and carry on the drinking and the gambling to point where the debts force them to move back in with their parents or worse

Johnson will never again earn anyhting like what he was getting... i wonder if his spending habits will adjust accordingly

The guy was continually injured 3 times he attempted comebacks but all to no avail he came back from his loan at Leicester because of injury. That is why he did not train Nothing to do with City turning a blind eye as some would have you believe.
