Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott should look into the mirror and ask himself a question. "Do I really worth to earn more money than Gareth Bale?".

Him and his agent are cashing in the Arsenal's awkward position.

I agree with Aceface, Tomimac and Jon_Ambition

I agree that Ace_face is a low life sc_m that tells other people that his father is dead, just to try and get them banned. I also agree that ace_face probably was abused by his non-deceased father for him to dislike his own father so much.

I have to agree with Mr C, that ace_face is probably the reincarnation of a former banned $pudling, who was banned because had an arguement with the infinitely more likable RRP.

But i think DJM is spot on when he stated that ace_face hasn't a feckign clue about football and what consitutes as overrated, with the likes of Defoe, Bale and Lennon in the $pud team.

And no, i'm not wound up at all.

well done Serial, can't even discuss football sensibly on your own board, and you wonder why everybody hates you.

Theo is a good player, but the fact his contract saga has come to this is daft - his ability just doesn't justify it. Sure he's still very young with room to improve, but surely arsenals efforts would be better spent on bringing quality new additions in rather than haggling with a guy who has often flattered to decieve.

Yeah, let's just focus on the football and forget what a silly person you are.

Theo has his many faults, and all of which are very well known by Arsenal fans. His inconsistency is legendery. But over the last 18 months, he has improved very much. His goal scoring record is good and his assists are good too.

The simple fact is that Arsenal, as we currently stand, cannot afford to let a player like Walcott leave, for free or for any amount. Yes, that might mean our standards have fallen and that Theo wouldn't have cleaned the shoes of the likes of Henry and RVP, but that is how it is.

Plus the assertion that Theo does not do it in big matches is false. He has performed some of his best games against the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, etc.

In the spurs game he was nowhere to be seen for 20 minutes, then when Adebayor got sent off he came to life. I find that quite typical of him as a player. I'm not arguing with you Serial, as you've more or less agreed with my point - that theo is a good but not great player whose contract saga reflects arsenals decline more than his own ability.

How much do arsenal fans think Wenger rates him? He's always been reluctant to let him play through the middle. D'you guys think Wenger/the board are trying so hard to keep him to placate the fans following the loss of cesc, nasri, RVP etc.

You don't really expect your better player to play at 00% quality for the full 90 mins, do you? I mean Gareth Bale, who i think is quality, did pretty much feck all until the 10 mins aeound his goal. On that basis, would you say Bale is poor?

----------------------------------

I think Wenge rates him highly. The fact that he has been withheld into playing the striker role until he was 23 is due to Wenger's philosophy about Winger's playing as strikers. He did the exact same thing with Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie. He's done the same thing here. Nothing to do about trusting Theo to play as a striker. All to do with going through the process of turning into an effective striker.

Is Theo worth £90,000? Yes. He's worth it, to Arsenal. We have a lack of attacking quality (mainly due to Wenger and the board), so to lose our main English attacking talent, even for a small fee, in unthinkable. Theo can be average, can look lost, can run around like a headless chicken. But unless Wenger wants to bring in a truly class striker, Walcott is very important to our future.

I was using the spurs game as an example of my overall opinion of him - ie good but bit of a flat track bully. I'd like to see him do well through the middle purely from an England perspective as we lack quality up top.

I can see what you mean about him being worth it to arsenal, £90k isn't horrendous for one of your best players when you're a CL club and you look at what other CL clubs (or even QPR!) are paying. As we've said before on here a flaw of arsenals is they pay the best players too little and the average ones too much. That wage structure needs to be addressed to move forward, and at the moment there's no better place to start than with theo, in the clubs current circumstances.

Serial, I read that thread you were on. Surprised me how the majority of the Spurs fans suddenly turned into precious marys and started complaining about you when all throughout that thread insults were traded back and for. Then doovde the little snitch comes along and grasses you up. I think you should be directing your anger at him. No one likes a pathetic weasel who grasses up others. Thats high school behaviour.
