The enigma that is Danny Welbeck was particularly evident today. On the one hand I think he works really hard and at times provides that bit of threat that lightening pace can give you whilst also being able to hold the ball up well.
On the other hand his end product is absolutely shocking- he cannot seem to score goals and in promising situations (that he often creates) he just blows it with an underhit pass/cross/shot.
I really want him to do well for us but Im not sure he should be getting a look in with RVP/Hernandez/Rooney and the quality we have in that position

I thought Welbeck was brilliant today, link up play and technique is brilliant for someone his age. The 1 goal in 25 stat is a bit misleading, of those 25 are the 5-10 minutes at the end of a game included? as well as all the games he's been stuck out on the left wing?
I agree he needs to improve infront of goal though and that will come with a run of games up front and experience, he will be a very good player for us if he can get the game time and is patient.

Shame that the bloke is a fundamentally horrendous footballer then. He won't be given the games, no matter how much you or others want that to be the case, as he has the technical ability of a toenail.
Danny was excellent today. He causes so many problems. When his composure comes to fruition, which it will, we have some player on our hands.

he's a big, strong, fast athlete who isn't a top footballer or a very good finisher.

I am a fan of Welbeck as I admire his work ethic. Work ethic, however, only takes one so far. I keep believing that he is going to start scoring and then everything will be dandy. Unfortunately the goals, somehow, do not come. I am beginning to get impatient.

It's not misleading. Players need to come in and out of the side and be able to do there job. Regardless of circumstance Danny has to score.
Henriquez has scored the same amount as him in a game and a half.
