Ireland squad v Poland

Westwood, Forde, Henderson, O'Shea, Clark, O'Dea, McShane, Coleman, Keogh, Cunningham, Ward, Pilkington, McClean, Brady, Mcgeady, Whelan, McCarthy, Hendrick, Meyler, Hoolahan, Cox, Long, Walters, Sammon, Keogh, Doyle

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good to see Clark, Cunningham, Pilkington (especially), Brady, Hendrick, Meyler, Hoolahan and perhaps Sammon (although im not sure he's up to it). Would have liked to have seen Alex Pearce in instead of O'Dea or McShane but its good to see Trap embrace a bit of change.

No joey o Brien or Alex Pearce despite being involved in previous squads and are premiership regulars whilst this stale donut of a manager continues to pick no marks like mcshane and o dea!!!! Not going to another Irish game until this farce of a manager is removed!!

Every time I see McShane's name appear in one of our squads, never mind first eleven my soul is crushed even further!

Good to see some more young players introduced, but I don't know whether this will be the same in the qualifiers. I think when he was begging Duff to come back out of retirement it said all we needed to know about his lack of plans for a youthful Irish side.

Some good looking and very sensible selections in midfield and attack there fair play to Trap on that, but I agree with you on the defence.

Greg Cunningham now plying his trade at championship basement club Bristol City, every Man City fan I spoke to has said he is first division quality at best, so no idea why he's still getting call ups to be honest.

Stephen Ward, really proved he wasn't good enough last summer at the Euros where he played his part in a lot of the goals conceded, along with Given, Dunne, O'Dea etc... we should really be looking at fresh, new left back options, why not Enda Stevens??

...and Darren O'Dea the lazy chancer, taking life easy in the MLS at minnows Toronto and still getting picked ahead of Alex Pearce, Joey O'Brien! For me that is the worst selection of the lot.

At least Paul McShane for all his faults, has nearly 20 appearances to his name already this season playing for a good Hull team, who look likely to get promoted. Say what you like, but you can't fault the man's attitude, his career in England wouldn't have lasted this long if he was as sh^t as you all like to believe.

O'Dea on the otherhand has failed everywhere he's gone so far in his career (couldn't even make it at Leeds last year, when we were desperate for any half-decent centre back to fill the hole)...

Trap needs to recognise this and stop picking him out of a misplaced sense of loyalty..

If O'Dea starts against Sweden, then I fear will be on for another ugly hiding, that guy has the attention span of a 5 year old and lazy to go with it...

Yeah, Enda Stevens has broken through at Aston Villa, so you'd think a call up even to have a look at him shouldnt be too far away.

I think there is a big bandwagon to jump on in Ireland in regards to McShane as well. Its time to get off the guys back, and yeah, O'Brien and Pearce have proven more in their careers than O'Dea, and the fact that he is Traps 3rd choice centre half is questionable.

Looking forward to the game. Heart says Poland win but heads says draw. Most probably a high scoring draw, 2-2.

As long as our Dortmund trio play, we've got a good chance.
