ANDY MURRAY Vs. NOVAK DJOKOVIC
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is bidding to become the first man to win three Australian Opens in a row, while No. 3 Andy Murray could become the first man in the Open era to follow up his maiden Slam title by immediately winning the next.
There will be no secrets between these two when they take the court. They’ve faced each other 17 times, seven in the last year. Djokovic holds the head-to-head lead at 10-7, but their matches are quite often decided by a handful of points. They went the full five sets in both their Slam matches last year, with Djokovic prevailing at the Australian Open and Murray besting him at the U.S. Open.
Djokovic is the favorite not only because he’s No. 1, defending champion and leads the head-to-head, but also because he’ll be fully rested after scoring an easy win over David Ferrer in his semifinal Thursday. Murray played his semifinal Friday and needed five sets and four hours to dispatch Roger Federer. Djokovic also has a 36-3 record on hard courts since the Olympics
What time does the match start?
The showdown is due to start at 8.30am UK time
Where can I watch it?
It will be live on BBC2 from 8.15am - and it will be on the BBC HD channel if you want to see the sweat and tennis balls in high definition.

Australian Open Final Match Thread
posted on 27/1/13
I don't think this match had as many exciting moments as the US Open final, but Djoko comes out a deserved winner. Many people forget (and this is aimed at biased GB commentators) that whilst Murray will learn and improve, so will Djoko!!! There is not much difference between the 2, but currently Djoko is generally just a few % better - I think Djoko is still slightly more aggressive at key points, and whilst mistakes will occur, that aggressiveness usually pays off. I'm pretty sure he hit a good number of more outright winners.
A pretty good final and look forward to the rest of the year.
