"To be honest it was my choice," Rooney told MUTV.
"It wasn't good enough.
"I went in to speak with the manager and said I'd spoken with Robin and told him he could take them. At a club like this, to miss two penalties like I did and not hit the target wasn't good enough.
About time to be honest, his penalties were getting a bit shady but fair play to him for taking himself off duty. One of the most selfless players i've ever seen play the game.

Rooney's career was founded on that wondergoal and destruction of the once mighty Arsenal.
Since then , he has destroyed them more times than i can remember, leaving them a shell of their former selves.
This year's visit to Old Trafford was one of the worst performances i've ever seen (this time RVP doing the destroying of his former, once great club).... Who'd have thought they could be worse than the 8-2 thrashing? (you know, the game Rooney scored a hatrick in)

Remember the gooners on the old 606 who thought Reyes was a much better player than ronaldo could ever be yep they are the most deluded fans of the lot. And the 49 unbeaten run was won by united because they went for the win the 2nd half unlike arsenal who just wanted the 0-0 and say 50 not out......which reminds me of them stupid tshirts they were all wearing and united scored 2, hence why you lost!
